Identification
    #22053522 - 08/06/15 01:07 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I am new to this, so I am sure that I am going to screw it up some how, but here goes. The blue bruising of this mushroom is what makes me think it may be something special, other than that I know nothing about it.

Habitat What kind of trees were nearby?  What was it growing from?
Hardwood trees nearby, growing from ground, near some woodchips. At least 30 mushrooms grouped together.

Location Where in the world was it?
Midwest, USA

Gills What do they look like?
See pictures

Spore print color (if you have time)
Taking one now, will get back with info soon

Scent of the mushroom.
Doesn't have a strong smell

Color that the mushroom bruises when damaged.
Dark blue to black

Wikipedia says Armillaria sp. have a white spore print. My spore print on a white piece of paper was practically invisible, so I assume it was white.

I read that these are edible. If you were me, knowing nothing, and you saying they look like rmillaria sp., would you feel comfortable cooking and eating it? Do they taste good?

Hi guys, sorry I'm a noob to the site and still figuring out how to post so sorry for hijacking this thread. I am a gardener and found these shrooms in east scotland. Can I get an ID on these? Some of them were huge like 6 inch length and inch cap.

The spore print came up black, maybe with a hint of blue or purple round the "edges"
Would appreciate some help please. Many thanks!
