Will a glass bead sterilizer melt a syringe?
    #22053241 - 08/06/15 11:58 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Glass bead Sterilizer-
Any problems with it melting/warping syringes? I doubt it will, but wanted to verify before I got one.
I figure it will cut down on the time I use when pulling/innoculating needles from LC (pull LC>flame sterilize>inoculate jar>flame sterilize>pull LC>flame sterilize> inoculate etc...
It states it will melt plastic;  but if we autoclave BD syringes, why would it be any different? Unless the direct heat from the glass beads causes a problem...

Direct heat vs moist heat makes a very large difference.

it would completely melt the plastic. I have had syringes warp to fuck by pressure cooking at too high a temp, which would have been maybe 135C.
