Flat tupperware lid, ok for fruiting?
    #2205311 - 12/28/03 07:48 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Seems that most people say to keep the water droplets from forming on the top then driping down on the mushrooms, use a humidity dome. But I have seen many setups where there is just a flat tupperware top on the fruiting chamber.

What, if anything should I worry about if I go this route?

~thanks~

sup

You wouldn't use a humidity dome or tent inside a fruiting chamber most likely.

Someone uses the flat disposable tupperware container lids to fruit on inside the chamber simply because it is convienient.

If you were incubating a flatcake - probably the easiest way to fruit it would be to dump it out onto the lid of the container.

Theres nothing really to worry about -- possibly sprinkle a small amount of verm (to collect any droplets)onto the lid under the cake if you think your chamber has very high humidity.

---------------

reread the post -- may have misunderstood you ---

Someone has never had issues with droplets getting so hardcore that they drip down onto any fruit. If this is happening - lower your humidity. Vaseline has been suggested - but also suggested that it causes mutants. Personally wouldn't mind hearing about the results from Rain-X.

just prop up the back of your chamber with a vhs tape or similar if your worried about water drops
