Could sugar-water injections bring back dying mycelium?

As you can see my once healthy cake now looks like this:

So I figure it's either starving or I accidentally cooked it with the heat mat I got on a craigslist type website for next to nothing. problem is it goes to one heat and one heat only (40c) so I used a heap of insulation to go between the cake and the container; at this point I was using a smaller container made of plastic, I transfered once the two mushrooms I harvested; they'd started to twist and bend to escape the container so I transferred to avoid self damage during growth, I got 2 mushrooms weighing in at around 30g total and when dried (I cut them up; quartered the stipe lengthwise and cut the caps into sixths. They dried extremely fast and never blued at all (is this a problem, may they be devoid of psilocibin?) they also dried heavier than I thought they would, weighing in at around 4g. It's an albino strain so I thought I'd see some bluing.
But I digress. Do you know what's wrong with the mycelium? I have 2 minipins starting to grow but the mycelium just seems to be dying. I figured about 10-15ml of saturated sugar water injected directly into the substrate using a 1/2" 25g needle at the worst parts (slowing or stopping if any water came out and not letting any pool.
At the end of the day I got 1 great flush from this 'lazyman's kit' (I have 4 prints and intend to make a shotgun tub 2/3 the size of that baking tray the mycelium is currently in, the second and third flushes were much lighter but still successful (unless #3 produced shrooms with no psilo') so if it's dead and gone I'll chuck it in the blender, then the bin; blending it will make the authorities think it's just dirt should they go poking on collection day whereas a cake would be much more incriminating.

you cooked it. injecting sugar water will just make mold grow.
never use a heating pad. they have no purpose in mycology.

Dude nobody's gonna be looking through your garbage lol you're just being paranoid. I throw out my spent bulk substrates all the time, no biggie.

Even if someone was going through your trash how many people really are educated enough to know what they're looking at.

Better safe than serving time. If by some minuscule chance the cops did dig through my trash; I was involved in some non-violent police related activity recently that didn't involve drugs; apparently your rights really do end where someone else's feelings begin and this wasn't even something like memorial trolling, one person got his feelings hurt and the next day the cops are at my front door; at 11pm with a car and a wagon to haul me to the furthest jail possible (I assume this was to try and 'break' me since my go to solicitor isn't on until the morning but I just asked for legal aid and swapped out) funny thing is, I let them in because I was assaulted the day before and even got a photo of the guy. I've called multiple times but the investigation is still 'processing'. They haven't even taken the guy in for interview yet. Fuck the police (at least the police here anyway since they do election tampering and let their trainees get away with joyriding and burning out cars yet said trainees still become cops. And then they wonder why they get shot at and blown up. I'm sure there are some places where the cops aren't just dicks on a power trip) so there is a higher than normal (but still very, very small) chance they may go trash digging blending the substrate and rinsing the blender only takes ten minutes, getting caught with shrooms just after getting cautioned would probably land me with at least half a year in jail. Half a year I could spend completing my studies.

I would dunk it in water for about 6 hours and see. Do not use sugar water it will definitely grow contams. Or if you use "saturated" sugar solution it will probably kill it off.
Powerful heat pads should be placed on top of containers, if you really need the heat.

Cheers for the reply. I've seen new mycelium growth where there was dead mycelium. Now this was a (semi, I stirred until it became raher difficult for the rest to dissolve) saturated cold solution and sugar is much more soluble in hot water. I'll keep on with some watchful waiting and if I have to I'll do a re-dunk. However everything seems healthy today even with an airhole in the bag big enough to fit multiple fingers through (and remove a 25g shroom) As of right now it's just the box that sits in the corner so I used an experimental technique to see if I could jumpstart re-growth. Since it's experimental and I've gotten all I needed I don't mind if I've given the baked mycelium a death sentence.

From what I understand, too much sugar is toxic and could kill your myc (if it ain't dead already). Dunk and fruit again until there are no more flushes. Bury them outside; there is no way to get a spent cake to continue to produce; it is dying. Spawning/casing spent cakes is a contam risk.
