Cactus ID

Was wondering if anyone would be able to help me correctly ID this beast. I've got my ideas of what it might be, but I thought I'd leave it up to some people who know a bit more about cacti than myself. If anyone has any questions about the details of the cactus, please ask so I can get some closure, haha Cheers

Pic was deleted? Ive noticed a string of new users in the last few days. They put up ID requests, and remove the images real quick

It's been happening in other forums with regular users too, I think it's an issue with the website.

Not sure if external links are allowed, but here's one. I uploaded the image to this site, but it deleted automatically. I dunno, probably witchcraft.

Well this is clearly someones property and not in a nursery. Is this your beautiful specimen? I think people wont want to ID this because last time the guy went and poached it.
If you like the cactus then meet the owner and compliment him/her on it and ask for a cutting. And no i dont think this is an active cactus, but im not an expert.

I found it when I was doing some exploring just outside my hometown. It's in front of an abandoned shed. I wouldn't flog somebodies cactus that they've worked hard on, that's just not cool. This has definitely been forgotten about over the years.

Looks like a cereus species.
If it's ownership is questionable, maybe just leave it alone.

cereus peruvianus. Look around the base for pieces that might've fallen off and rooted on their own. Also check back for flowers and fruits. If the lot is abandoned, then the owner is a bank or city. It can be tricky finding out who owns it. Poaching is illegal no matter if the plant is abandoned or not because the property always has owner. :/
