Deep Frier Sterilization?

I was once frustrated by the necessity of buying a pc for sterilization purposes. Although I don't have a deep fryer, I am curious: Is sterilization possible in hot oil? I've heard it is possible (just difficult) using dry heat in an oven, with the advice to add 10 cc's of extra water (See here). Much like an oven, this would dry out jars, but would have the advantage of heating the jars much more quickly. Most importantly, this could be helpful to beginners who want to avoid financial commitment.
A vague tek for jars:
-Add a bit of extra water to jars -Submerge in oil up to bottom of lid -Heat, keep heated to a reasonable temp/time (perhaps 165C for 30 minutes? I really have no idea) -Turn off heat, wait a bit to avoid cracks -Remove jars, wash then disinfect exterior
I was contemplated trying this with oil in large pot, but think a deep fryer with a temperature gauge may help avoid problems that arise from overheating (i.e., drying out, destruction of sugars).
What difficulties do you foresee? Is anyone looking for serious street cred and willing to try it out?

Buy a PC. The steam and pressure are what sterilizes, not just immersing in hot liquid...You can boil BRF jars and by proxy your suggestion may work for that, but for grains, agar, ect just get a PC.

That would just be a mess I am not willing to hassle with.
You would spend such a long time cleaning oil off all your jars.
No thank you!

Let me get this straight. The idea of getting a pressure cooker frustrates you, but immersing your jars in oil inside of an appliance that would not only hold less, but costs a hell of a lot more doesn't? You need that pressure to reduce the time from 8 hours down to 90 minutes. A deep frier doesn't increase pressure (and thus doesn't increase the boiling point of water, which your grains are saturated in).

This may work, but it is also incredibly dangerous. I have been seriously burned by a deep fryer before. I would think that it's a much safer and proven bet to go with a PC.

OK again it doesn't matter how hot the surrounding oil is the jars at atmospheric pressure are not getting above 100 degrees till they dry out. Oil will give no better results than water or steam without pressure.

Wait, what if oil was used inside a pressure cooker instead of water? After all, canola oil boils around 300 degrees Celcius. Would the vapor coming off of the oil be able to produce enough pressure to seal the PC? It may actually work. At those temps, the substrate would certainly be sterilized.

LOL. I'm just going to stick with water thanks.
Oil wouldn't create steam until temperatures so high the grains would probably be dry. You want to heat grains filled with water, with water. If your grains were saturated in oil, you'd use oil. But you don't want grains filled with water heated up with a substance that has a different boiling temperature. At 300°C water isn't water. It's steam. But oil still hasn't even steamed at all to make any pressure form in the chamber.
