g2g spawn more quarts?

if one were growing shiitakes on millett and wanted to use one of 85% colonized quarts to spawn more quarts my friend assumed this can be done in sterile conditions. Or, would the growth in the jars spawned from a previous jar be too slow reproducing, therefore making room for more contams?

I mean, you could do it, but, your contamination probability goes way up !

You think the risk runs too high even in a dual HEPA environment? A character in a book I am reading was also wondering about doing the same thing with agar and petri dishes, but does this have to be fresh roomie stem and not mycelium?

if you do the g2g in a sterile invironement then it will be fine.

of course there is more risk b/c your exsposing that ~15% to contams. but in the environment you describe shouldn't be much more risk. do it.
there shouldn't be any difference in the rapididy of the colonizing jar g1 and g2. if anything they should grow more quickly than starting from spores.
btw I though shittakes were wood loving not grain fungi??
