Hello all I just started dipping into agar certain but my one question to which my searching can not manage to come up with a answer is what are you supposed to do with the Petri dishes after I inoculate them? As in am I supposed to store in frig or maybe a closet. Any input would be great! Excited to see how they turn out.

Wrap them in parafilm or put them inside fresh ziplock bags.
Store at room temp unless you are trying to store the myc for later usage. (As in a couple months)
If you want to store the plates for later put them in the fridge.

I cut a roll of saran wrap into multiple 1 inch wide "tape" rolls.
wrap the edges like you would use parafilm. then store the dishes on a shelf to colonize, make transfers when the growth is about dime sized

I have read that after the initial MS drop begins to germinate on the ager, transfer as soon as the white MYC growth is the size of a green pea. This size ->
I have done this a few times and prefer it.
A piece from the pea size growth will be large enough to transfer, as well as very healthy if contam free of course.

depends on your monitor and resolution.
as soon as you see growth if you're trying to get away from contamination. if you have a clean spore syringe you can let it grow out a bit first as to make some sort of determination about which part of the dish you would like to take a wedge from

Thank you everyone for the help. Went ahead and hit 20 of them I guess only time will tell. How long does it take to see growth?

Up to a couple weeks. Next time just drop on a few plates and save the rest for transfers later on.
It's better to have plates ready instead of needing to pour new ones every time you need them
