Haha tripping at those places is actually a great way to make a lot of friends. The folks there really love seeing people tripping haha, people will definitely talk to you if you seem like you're having a good time and from there on out it is pretty easy

Embrace the sweet gift of eye contact.
Break out of social condition.
Open yourself to your experience.
Realize you are in control of the way you feel.
I love you all!

Don't get me wrong drugs/alcohol is not a permanent solution to anxiety relief or social anxiety but it's a damn good crutch

You got to force these situations, go talk to people in an appropriate setting. Maybe take a group activity course. Nonpain, no gain.

Originofsymmmetry said: This has always been a problem for me. I become overwhelmed when I'm thrown into situations where I'm not familiar with the place I'm at and the people that are there. I'm even awkward around family. But a lot of my family is weird and awkward too. I'm also told by people like my step sis(who's me ex as well.), my other ex, and other people I occasionally talk to say I sound like I'm reading from the same prompt whenever i talk to my step mom or dad
Anyways: So, how does one overcome this feeling of being socially handicapped, or how have you guys if you have experienced or still experience something similar? I feel like I'm only gonna get worse the more I put it off and become complacent with it. I rarely post on forums, i just lurk. But i figured i'd try posting something :P
I overcame my social anxiety which used to be really bad by using mdma.I have'nt had a problem with anxiety socially since then.Benzo's tend to make me say dumb shit so i refrain from them.I also loose alot of things on them.

MDMA can definitely help (it has worked for me too)!
Instead of it magically changing how your brain works in the background, it simply shows you how easy it is to be outgoing and how natural it can feel to socialize, and it sticks with you after the roll is over.

Not familiar with odt
and With MDMA i've always wanted to try, I've just always had a gf whenever I've had the chance and i just picture myself getting really touchy with others girls XD but now I'm single, now i just gotta find some place to do it and maybe make some friends
I think Im part responsible for my predicament as well, I had a long time gf who I thought was my soul mate blah blah blah So i pretty much spent all my time with her and when she dumped me i was kinda left with no one :P But ya, I'm def gonna try to be more proactive about my sociableness

but that is what it takes to overcome it
ever notice how anxiety worsens when u are fighting it?
that;s precisely what anxiety is, it;s an inner fight against ourselves
tell the peacemakers and they will tell u, fighting never usually solves anything, just makes it worse..

It is easy to meet people at these places... eat some shrooms and by the end your friends with everyone. Then people will invite you to private gatherings. Gotta go where the high people are.
I disagree. I think you are spouting nonsense.
