Pinning very slowly
    #22048079 - 08/05/15 03:33 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

so my friend had B+ cakes and PF Classic cakes in the same SGFC in the identical conditions. High af humidity, misting/fanning 3-5 times a day, and a 12/12 light/dark schedule. Well with the B+ cakes, there was an explosion of knots, promorodia, and pins after 7 or 8 days. Harvested 18g dry of B+. Well with the pf Classic cakes there has been minimal knotting and very little prinorida. He noticed the first signs of primordia about 7 days after birthing. Problem is, 3 or 4 days later there has been almost no growth of any of the primordia. The only difference between the B+ cakes and PF classic cakes beside genetics is that the of classic cakes had a mush better roll and was covered by a lot more vermiculite than the B+. Plenty of mycelium still exposed though. Any ideas? Maybe it's just a matter of time and I should just wait?

Wait.

I think you're underplaying genetics. A good dry verm layer helps but ultimately genetics determine when to pin.
