this is one from my first grow, it has been colonizing very rapidly, but it's been completely white like this for a few days now. Could it be time to birth?

You sure can birth it now if you want. Some members will tell you to give it a week to consolidate after full colonization. I usually just wait until I start seeing pinning.

I as well wait until I see invitro pins and then I dunk n roll.
-------------------- Alright then, picture this if you will: 10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51. Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

it looks like mold all over. i'd be real surprised if its just a bad quality pic or lighting that makes it look like that!

It's definitely not mold. It looks like a fully colonized cake. I even see ropey growth up by the lid. It is mediocre lighting/resolution but I can see why you are thrown off by the pic.

Yes, I'm guessing that was from an MS syringe.
When you open the jar, it should smell of fresh mushrooms and nothing else, if not then bacteria is most likely present. Not the end of the world tho, you can fruit through bacteria for the first flush, but the second flush will be greatly diminished and the contam will take over.

I call bullshit. I've had bacteria contam on cakes that lasted 4 or 5 flushes. Just keep it in check and lots of fae & misting.

But you want to fruit bacterial cakes outdoors or at the very least in another room, no matter the number of flushes (though I agree with psilotiful on this one)

That is false. Bacteria is only an issue with colonization. If the cake fully colonizes you can fruit in in the fc with other cakes.
Op you're good to go unless you have second thoughts. Then you can post another pic of the cake birthed.

Yes but I'm assuming he probably has others colonizing. I don't like to take the chance.
