Is it okay to put the lid on my kit and let it stay for four days?

I honestly have no clue why but fresh from the womb noobs often send me grow questions. I joined up to this site for the hunting info and know shit all about growing. This guy says it's urgent so i'm making this thread on his behalf. Thank you for your patience for enduring the abstruse format of this thread.

I'm pretty desperate right now. I've been looking for this question on google for a long time but I just couldn't find anything about it so I hope you can help me
I have a grow kit which gave me my first flush a few days ago. Now the problem is that I'm going on vacation for 4 days and I don't know exactly if it's okay to just put the lid on and let it stay for 4 days ??? Then I would stard the second flush after these 4 days. I just don't want it to get contaminated or anything.
Thanks for your help
Thanks to anyone that offers an answer, i have sent Mambas a link to this thread for answers, as i can't help them.

I have read the only real way to stall mycelium so it doesn't fruit is by putting it in the fridge. I've never had to worry about trying this out so I really can't say from personal experience if this will work If it was me I would put the lid on, pop that bitch in the fridge, and pray for greatness. Once he comes back, assuming the stall was successful, he could just remove it from the fridge remove the lid and proceed where he left off. I really don't see any reason why this wouldn't be successful.

your best bet probably is putting the whole thing in an airtight container and sticking it in the fridge. Did you dunk it ? How long has it been in fruiting for ? what kind of kit ? I had a box of fully colonized myc left home alone 2 days after the first flush, went away for 5 days and came back just as a few of the guys had dropped their spores. Pretty lucky timing.

no, dont do that after a flush, he now needs to re-hydrate the kit and just let it grow while he is away.
he probably got a choke bag, or "genious fruiting bag with advanced air intake" to fruit them in so he needs to poke some holes in it and/or keep the top of the bag somewhat opened.
do not close it back up, it will be like wet rags in a gym bag

won't the cold slow it down ? he says he doesn't want to risk it going thru another flush while he's away are some spores all over the place that bad tho ? :P

it will slow it down, but listen to spacechildo. the OP would benefit from putting it in more optimum fruiting conditions after a dunk and letting it do its thing while he is away. What you are recommending will only set back the project/cause further problems. Airtight anything is generally bad. These things are alive and need to breathe.

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm gonna dunk it and let it do its thing for four days. I'll poke some holes into the grow bag so that it can breathe. The humidity isn't gonna be very high because I wont be there to humidify it with the spray ^^ but I hope they still manage to fruit in these conditions.

They will be fine. FAE > constant high humidity. Evaporation off the substrate is a big pinning trigger and it's not going to happen without proper FAE.
