I'll admit I'm addicted ( somewhat) to weed. Been seshing 2-5 times a day for 5 Years now.. It's probably made me a tad lazy and that's all. I don't believe it's affected my mental or physical health in anyway.. That being said do you guys think marijuana addiction is really that bad?

I told myself last week I wouldn't smoke cuz I on night shit, I ended up rationalizing smoking, and smoked all week ( although not before work.. I stayed true to that) and now I thought today would be the perfect time to quit as I'm working a double shift 16 hrs.. As I'd go over 24hrs without doing it before I got home, and now with 2 hrs to go I got reminded of weed by a Co worker and I quickly rationalized smoking when I got home... I'm thinking who cares if I smoke everyday till the day I die.. That's why I ask is quitting weed really worth it, if it's not negatively effecting you?

Marijuana addiction is bad for some people and good for others.
Marijuana can have extremely diverse effects!
For me, it makes me get work done. When I am sober I like to sit down and browse the web and post in SA. When I smoke, I am think about the things I wanted to do, and then one by one do them.
It can have very bad effects on job / friends / family, if they are against it and use your use to label you as worthless.
Other people think you are worthless if you don't smoke. Those people fall into two categories - those that smoke achieve a whole lot of awesome stuff, and hippies who never do anything.
In any case, it's always good to hide your use from those who would not approve. And to take breaks often.

Or if you have nothing to do. There's even an article on here showing crackheads smoke crack because they've got nothing else to do with their time. Boredom creates bad habits.

Been 3 days I feel pretty much exactly the same.. Except a little more groggy / tired during the day.... Makes me wonder if there's a point in quitting

When I smoke heavily and quit, I get the opposite effect - I feel extra clearheaded for a couple days. It's kind of a nice counterbalance.
I'd give it a month and see how you feel after your natural cannabinoids equalize.

Sit down and right a list of the reasons why you want to stop smoking and one for the reasons for doing it. Do a lil research into withdrawal symptons so you have an idea of what to expect. With this in mind you'll probably be a bit more mentally prepared and thinking a lil more objectively.
I did this before and afterwards was talking it out with a stoner buddy at the time debating with myself to give up. My rationale for doing so hit home to him to the extent that he actually gave up smoking that night.
Consider: Financial - Tally up the amount you spend per year. I think i was running at a £4k a year which is rent for a house on my own. Health - It is affecting your lungs and the laziness has a subtle effect on amount of exercise you do. Time not spent on other stuff Social - Disappearing to get high, bailing on nights out etc. not being able to hang around certain tee total folk. Relationships - From personal experience, stoners aren't on the top of the list for women and it adds stress to some relationships. Career Mobility - can't up and leave cos your kinda tied down to a routine and your dealer (Well over a decade of toking has confirmed the various drawbacks for me. Weed can be used responsibly, but I don't and it does have negative impacts)
Just some ideas but they need to be personal to you. Think it all through. The addiction is mainly mental, break that psychological habit and motivate yourself towards the lifestyle that you desire. You're not giving up weed, you want to be a non smoking, financially secure person without restrictions on your daily activities. You will need to replace the time with a new hobby, it's the boredom that'll have your mind wandering. Toking has been your hobby for 5 years, time for a fresh one.

i used weed to slide off harder drug use, and decided i was going to smoke multiple times a day on purpose, for a year, just to see what's it like being a pothead.
That was 4 years ago. i've maybe not smoked a cumulative total of a month, since then.. but it helps me deal with my commute, and with going to work everyday.
i'm always interested in the prospect of stopping smoking, but around a week into it, things just get too intense... it's like i gather too much energy and feel im going to explode. someday when im ready i'll pour all of that energy into some pursuit...
but for now imma keep smoking and building my Magic decks....

Just don't rob your niece's piggy bank to finance your crippling weed addiction.

If you did anything 5 times a day for 5 Years, youd get somewhat addicted too... And if you read, I didnt do it during the week on my own terms while having weed in my house. So obviously not really addicted mainly just habit...

You're not addicted to weed. You're just very used to smoking it all of the time so you need to occupy yourself so you don't spend all of your time thinking about how you could be high. In about a month or two of not smoking, although you will still miss it, you will find it's really not that hard to stop smoking weed if you have a good reason to.

part of your addiction isn't just the high. it's the oral fixation and the act of smoking. Trust me.
Try smoking an organic herbal blend. i'm not talking about spice, I mean things like Damiana with lemonbalm...
they are TASTY and actually really mellow you out because of the damiana.
Let me link you...

Damiana is bad for the liver and the smoke is worse on your lungs.
It's best to quit if it is affecting you negatively.
I personally love smoking all day every day. Unfortunately I'll turn around and it'll be 3 months later and my extra cash takes a hit. This isn't sustainable for me in my current life situation, so I quit smoking.
It is certainly healthier to not smoke at all. If one feels the NEED to smoke/do drugs, then one must evaluate what it is they are avoiding. Often times it is simple boredom, but often the boredom causes one to think about/feel emotions that they wish they didn't. This is what needs to be addressed. If the issues aren't ones that can be changed, accepting them is necessary. If they can be changed, then make changes in your life so that they aren't issues!
