Anyone know the round about blow out pressure of the rubber blow out valve? I usually run mine between 20-25 psi but sometimes she gets away from me.

It's a pc upgraded to a stetilzer. It makes me a tad nervous. It's not like is going to blow up like a bomb. But it would produce a nice scalding hot fountain of bird seed. Shit maybe I will set the go pro up outside and film it popping a seal.

My overpressure valve opened at 30 psi. I believe the plug goes at 35 but I didn't feel like holding the valve shut to test it

So you swapped out the vent pipe and weight for the stopcock? It looks like you are still running the black blow out plug not the red sterilizer one.
I thought I read that the stopcock begins to release some pressure around 24psi and it starts to whistle which gets louder as pressure goes up eventually being really loud. Is this not true?
I recently upgraded my cookers with stopcocks and the red blow out plug. I took a side by side picture of the 2 different plugs. You can see that the gap space is slightly smaller on the red plug giving it a tighter fit.

Both pieces felt like they were made of the same rubber, the red plug did not feel more stiff at all. I think the clearance and better seal as a result are the only real difference, aside from the color. I can't find it but I read somewhere that the red one has a higher blow out rating, I don't recall the numbers. The red one supposedly holds vacuum very well. The black plug on my 921 held surprisingly good vacuum, but my 930 in stock form didn't really pull vacuum. I upgraded both.

I have a standard black plug and I hold a vacuum for about 12 hours (rough estimate), is that normal?

Dunno, I was told that the black plugs don't hold vacuum. But my 921 did with the black plug, I never timed how long it held it. When I opened the cooker the next day the vacuum was usually for the most part gone. My 930 didn't really seem to pull vacuum with the black plug. So in some cases they do if you're lucky I guess.

My 941 easily holds one for 24hrs. It is newer if that accounts for anything.

Good info. I run my 941, and 915, over pressure. But, I get scared when it hits 20psi. Good to know that I still have some leeway...

I never knew that there was a red one. I have a 921 and the black plug has never held a vacuum. I will order one today. Maybe I will film the black plug failing when I change it out. The main reason why I upgraded the pc is that I hated listrning yo the weight jiggle. Now I have a pretty good process. Let the pc heat up for ten minutes, close vent and set timer for 10-15mins depending on whats in it ( usually 15 psi at this point ), then set set timer for 20 mins, check to make sure its around 20 psi, set timer again for an hour. The best part is no noise and the bonus of better cooking temps.
