How do u go about sterilizing verm in oven? How many degrees/how long?  I couldn't just take something break the cake up in the jar, then case like grains?

If you're gonna break up the cake in the jar, then you might as well mix it in a separate mini mono with your prepared coir/verm. It will work the same as broken up grains, just give it time to colonize. Your yield will be a LOT higher as well.

Also, I've heard people having no contam issues using verm right out of the bag, just sprinkle a thin layer across the top.

Thank you guys so much for all of the info, I do not know what I would do without that Shroomery :-) What would you guys do if you were in my position? Not to beat a dead horse but I have all of the materials ready and am going to do one thing or another today for sure!  Oh yeah..Not that it matters all that much with cubensis, but strain is Hawaiian And I am going for largest yield :-)

Dunk for 24 hours, crumble using a cheese grater to bulk trays.

spawn cakes to coir in mini mono tub.
add a casing layer if you wanna. can just be simple coir+verm.

So just so I feel comfortable when I am doing this and think I am NOT messing anything up. Do I need to dunk if I am going to spawn that cakes to bulk? Also Is it necessary to Junk at all if it is getting case or getting spond to bulk? And let's say I add the cake to go look, if you I let it colonize again, and then add the casing or do all of the steps mentioned at one time? Sorry for all the questions, I know that. The search function I probably could find them but I much rather have input from you. I am just random threads

Thx, ganjaburger

Yes, it would provide more moisture for your bulk substrate and colonization will be faster. It's the same concept as dunking your grains. Go for it!! :super:
