Anybody else go barefoot whenever possible? 1

I don't see many other people at all who do it, except at hippie festivals, but that just makes me wonder if they normally wear them. I'm getting sick of stores making me leave because I don't have shoes. I could go on my rant about why feet are cleaner than their shoes 9 times out of 10, but its wasted breath. "its company policy."
I shall mention some benefits: The obvious one is your body was built to walk like that, but the coolest part is how engaging it makes walking. Walking is normally boring, but without shoes you have constant sensory input from your feet that you're not accustomed to. You're also on constant guard for painful obstacles like rocks, broken glass, pieces of wood. These two things combined transform the incredibly mundane act of walking into a much more engaging experience. Going barefoot can also actually be better than having shoes in certain situations, especially when you need to slowly slide down something mostly vertical (noticed it when I was descending a tree where the landing was quite tricky, so I just clung to the trunk with my feet, something you could never do with shoes, and slowly slid down.) One of the other really great benefits, particularly for me, is they seem to help my ingrown toe-nails immensely. May be a specific case because it seems now that my toenail issue was caused by narrow shoes, but who knows, others may have the same problem and not realize it because they wear shoes everytime they need to do serious walking.
I got the whole idea from a wilderness survival show called "Dual Survival." (one of the more quality survival shows if you haven't seen it. most survival shows blowww) One of the characters always went barefoot, except in snow he would wear wool socks.
If I inspire anyone to try the barefoot life, go easy on sidewalks. Your feet can get raw from skin rubbing off really quickly when you first start out.

I go barefoot whenever possible too. It's bullshit that there's such a stigma behind it.
I hate being told that I need to wear shoes because going barefoot is unhygenic; our hands touch so many more things than our feet, but no one walks around wearing gloves all day.

thats an excellent point, I'd never heard that one before
My bit about the hygiene deal is: When I step in something, I am very aware of it and will seek to wash it off immediately. When somebody wearing shoes steps in something, they will only notice if it produces an odor or sticks to the floor. Not to mention the fact that you can't clean shoes very well in the moment, so people likely have ancient yucky stuff inside the tread of their shoes, just sitting there for months.
And the fact that clothing produces more bacteria. Having your feet in a really humid/hot environment sounds so much more hygenic

What I'm about to say could easily be quackery: But the rubber soles of shoes could prevent you from being electrically grounded to the earth. Since electromagnetic fields seem to interact with life this could be another benefit. The electromagnetic field produced by your heart may interact with the natural magnetic field of the earth in a beneficial way when shoeless
What sorts of places kick you guys out for being barefoot? IME its convenience stores most often. I've never tried going to fancy places barefoot though.

I never really try to walk into stores for being barefoot since I don't want to deal with the bullshit. I've been in a steak n shake before and had some guy staring at me the entire time I ate my meal.
I mostly just stick to home, friends' houses, and wherever that isn't a store.
What kind of businesses do you not get kicked out of?

yeah I'm not very used to big cities. Was in one walking around with friends the other day and I kept lightly burning my feet on the asphalt, as it was a super hot day. That and there is wayyyy, way more broken glass than I'm used to.
Like do people go around breaking bottles for fun or what?

I walk barefoot whenever possible, all the sensations make life a lot more bearable. I also don't understand the social necessity of wearing shoes, I bet my feet are a lot cleaner than most pairs of shoes. I wash my feet a few times a week. How often do you wash your shoes?

Humans were meant to be barefooted and i wear shoes when I'm out for the day because of no shoes no service although at home I walk around barefoot because I'm serving myself. Your feet apparently are super durable and can withstand heat , punctures and its all the shoes fault we have pussy feet.

I love going barefoot on smooth-ish surfaces, but sadly living in colorado wilderness there are way too many pine trees and the soil is very rocky crushed granite. Going barefoot here is impossible unless you want to puncture your foot with sharp needles and tear skin with sharp granite haha
I have done some trail running here in the mountains with more sand like soil and it has made my feet pretty hardened. Even then, the rocky ground and pine needles are too much to stand

exactlyy. personally I never ever washed my shoes. Dog shit only warranted a good thorough grass rubbing.
I've been practicing walking stealthily lately, getting pretty good at it. Going barefoot gives you a huge advantage for stealth

its true. I've watched more than my share of shows about tribal peoples, and the durability of these peoples bodies is simply nuts. Those peoples feet practically becomes shoes. I've seen a native bite through a young tree to cut it down

I hate being barefoot and I do not like people who look for any chance to be barefoot they get. Its gross. I don't want to see your gross black feet and your weird ass toes. Nobody wants to smell them either. So if you had any respect for others...please for the love of god keep your fucking socks or shoes on.

Have you ever worn shoes without socks during a time your feet were wet and you ruined your shoes ? Take that as a sing to never buy shoes again because feet smell , bad.
People who don't wear or change their socks in their shoes have smelly feet though

When dancing under psychedelics. I all most everytime go barefooted. And it is kind of a thing that just happens on autodrive, without thinking. Never had a single scratch or any wounds during trance. would just wipe the shattered glass of my feet and continue Only problem has been that when in public clubs bouncers cant accept the Fact that this dirty hippie is dancing on broken glass barefooted(for my safety, yeah right). Or maybe it is just that they dont want to see barefooted hippie on dancefloor. Well dont go To clubs often enymore....like small underground partys. and nowdays it's only 1-2 times year when i go for it. but it was the same thing last time i was in ug psy party some months a go.barefooted quite quicly with big grin on my face

lol I really don't see the big deal, I guess call me weird but I never look at people's fucking feet, ever. That's why I buy crappy shoes most of the time, because why the hell would anyone be looking at your feet.
So when there is someone without shoes, I don't even notice most of the time...

The only time I've ever noticed the smell of feet in my life is after taking off shoes
My feet are sexy. Being unable to stomach the appearance of others is laughable. I wish our society was nudist so your really had to deal with it

Exactly... your shoes would smell just as bad as your feet after walking around... The only time your feet actually have an odor of their own is when you take them out of your shoes/socks because those create a moist environment for bacteria to grow, hence "bad feet smell".
And it really does just sound like he is repulsed by male's feet, what the fuck lol have you ever been to a beach or waterpark?

I am barefoot as much as possible, I loves it! I only wear shoes when at work and mostly just five fingers. Put on boots for digging with a shovel, or when lifting heavy things that might drop on my feet. Even in cold weather, your body will get used to extreme cold and adapt(somehow? I don't know the hows). Same with hot rocks or pavement, I can walk comfortably most of the time on blacktop on a 95 degree day.
I feel it has done my back and my posture a world of good, toe shoes and barefoot both.
Hiking barefoot is a incredible experience. You nearly have to hold a gun to someones head to get them to try it, but once they try it....

I have pretty tender feet so I mostly limit my barefoot activities to lawns and the beach. Love it though. They say there's some shit about electrons or somethin.

Yep. Only negative thing is that you get treated as a lunatic when wearing only sandals in winter from my experience.

It isn't that. There is value in doing things that are uncomfortable. Your body won't work as well as it can
