Very scary experience during low dose psilocybin trip

So I'm relatively new to psychedelics. I've only tried mushrooms, and I've probably only done them about 10 times. Doses ranging from 0.7 grams to over 4 grams (dried). I've learned so much from these experiences, and have discovered so many things, but I'm now worried I may have to stop.
The last time I did it, I only did 0.7 grams. I made it into a tea. The come up was fine, the trip was fine. Everything normal, all the expected symptoms...
Yet, when I started to come down, I was simply sitting on the couch, and I felt a muscle (or something) twitch inside the left side of my chest right below my heart, and the pain was moderate. I sat up, surprised by it, and it twitched again, hurting even more. I took a deep breath and the pain went away. But immediately after, I felt a sudden shortness of breath, and I kept getting more and more nauseous. The nausea got so intense so quickly that I had to get to the toilet to throw up. I got into the bathroom, and my legs and arms seemed to just give way underneath me (not completely). I allowed myself to lie on the bathroom floor, ready to get up and grab the porcelain if I needed to vomit. But all of a sudden, the nausea completely disappeared within a few seconds, and then all of a sudden I felt completely fine. My chest felt a little sore from whatever the twitching was (and the next day I could still feel it a little bit when I breathed in deep), but other than that I was fine.
I walked out of the bathroom, and my girlfriend noticed that my face was very pale.
Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm thinking perhaps I should go to the doctor, and get checked up... This is the only time in my life anything like this has ever happened.
I really hope I don't have to abstain from psychedelics for the rest of my life because of this. That'd be a real bummer. Thanks for any feedback!

sounds unrelated to mushrooms physically

how is your health in general? family history of heart problems?
maybe a muscle spasm sent you into a panic attack type episode?

No, no real history of heart issues in the family... Could it have been induced by panic? Perhaps.. But it felt very involuntary. The nausea was very real and very intense, and the blood definitely was drained from my face.
My overall health is pretty good. I'm thin, and exercise somewhat regularly.

I had something like this happen on 1g of penis envy mushrooms.
I was sitting on the back porch during the comedown of a light trip and i randomly felt a shortness of breath. Then felt dizzy and nauseous, so i threw up and my vision started fading and i heard ringing in my ears. The trip kicked into overdrive (almost dmt like) after i puked, but I lied down for 5 minutes and i was fine. It was scary and weird.
I smoked a shitload of weed on the comedown and i think its related to that. I dont smoke on trips anymore and ive never had the problem.

Thanks for reminding me! After I laid down in the bathroom and started feeling better I got an insane ringing in my ears. I would have forgotten about that had you not reminded me.
Did your face go pale? Or was no one there to tell you?

It may be that the mushroom you ate or made the tea with was some kind of sport or was otherwise someway mutated so that it had a chemical composition that could cause the condition you describe.
To me it sounded like a heart attack--the pain and nausea are common in such events. But I am no doctor. I don't know anything except what I have read. You are probably pretty young to be having a heart attck.
Since you have had good luck with mushrooms 9 out of 10 times, it seems to me you would be wise to continue use but not with anything coming out of the batch from which your problem dose came.

Very strange.
Maybe u have an allergy to shrooms?
Where did u get these shrooms from?
Ive had an experience of being "poisoned" with my chest hurting and lethergy from a wood lover species called ps cyans. It was scary.
Im assuming u have cubenis?

Sounds like a case of heartburn/indigestion. Maybe the Mushrooms had grown mold?

My guess would be some dehydration or common vasocostriction associated with these enthogens...anxiety then takes over because your brain is saying...."What the fuck?"

Classic case of vasoconstriction. I've never known anyone to experience this on mushrooms, but definitely on nBomes and other rcs; sometimes lsd.

I can't find anything on psilocin pharmacology that would induce these symptoms, and after years of use I've never had it happen.
I'm fascinated by this report though, and if these effects were induced by psilocin it would be interesting to learn what's going on.
Increased heart rate is common with psychedelics, and vasoconstriction can occur (in fact this is part of why LSD was looked into for migraines, and ergotamine tartrate was prescribed for them) https://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_medical1.shtml
In the case below a heart-transplant patient was apparently killed by psilocin...
Incident: Anonymous Female, 2012 # In 2012, a 24-year-old female died following a cardiac arrest 2-3 hours after consuming magic mushrooms. She had received a heart transplant 10 years prior. Six months before her death she had had a clinic review and was "well with no physical limitations". The plasma levels reported in the autopsy suggest a fairly high dose of psilocybin-containing mushrooms. Lim TH, Wasywich CA, Roygrok PN. "Letter to the Editor: A fatal case of 'magic mushroom' ingestion in a heart transplant recipient". Internal Medicine Journal. Nov 19, 2012 (online).1268-9. Autopsy confirmed a healthy cardiac allograft (no allograft vasculopathy). Plasma toxicology revealed a psilocin level of 30 mg/L (consistent with magic mushroom toxicity) and a tetrahydrocannabinol level of 4 mg/L. No alcohol or other common drugs of abuse were detected. [...] Only two deaths have been previously reported directly attributable to magic mushroom ingestion ... We postulate that in this case excessive sympathetic stimulation of the transplanted heart as a result of Psilocybe mushroom toxicity led to fatal ventricular arrythmias."-erowid
So maybe if your predisposed to heart conditions psilocin can have negative effects? ...
...But if this is the case then why have there only been 3+ deaths suspected to have been caused by psilocin?
Interesting stuff though...

wow really interesting stuff Coincidentiaoppositorum !
after that i agree if you have a heart condition or you get some effects like that maybe you should reconcider shrooms and phychedelica in general
wonder if the person didnt take the shrooms it would of happended anyway?
like a different time, say on a rollercoaster!

hmm i just mean to combat vasoconstriction in general. I feel drawn even tight sometimes. I know Aspirin is an anti coagulant that would work to dissolve blood clots or prevent clotting. would that be any use to reduce chances of harm while your cardiovascular system is constricted? Is there anything that would counter act ir entirly, i hear someone say an herb called cats paw would stop it?

For sure, I'm always happy to spread information.
psilocin deaths are extremely rare though, as are deaths from LSD, as far as I know there are not any mescaline deaths, this quote from erowid describes the general physical safety of traditional psychedelics: The primary health concerns about LSD use are related to psychological health rather than risk of physical damage to the body or brain. As senior LSD researcher Dr. David Nichols, Distinguished Chair of Pharmacology at Purdue University and head of one of the world's top LSD research labs, stated in his 2004 review article on hallucinogens, "There is no evidence that any of the hallucinogens, even the very powerful semisynthetic LSD, causes damage to any human body organ. [...] Hallucinogens do not cause life-threatening changes in cardiovascular, renal, or hepatic function because they have little or no affinity for the biological receptors and targets that mediate vital vegetative functions."1 Deaths resulting from the pharmacological effects of LSD are rare to non-existent.-erowid
...so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss psychedelia over minor issues which likely won't be fatal...but if you have had a heart transplant or have a medical condition that can cause death if stimulated, than, no, psychedelics are not for you...
