• Made lids by making a self sealing injection port and one larger whole for a Tyvek filter. Used high temp RTV for injection port and around the Tyvek and used extra around the edges of the Tyvek. On top of the Tyvek filters I also used Micropore tape. • Start by soaking WBS for ~18hrs. Rinsed thoroughly and allow to drip dry for 40min. I then filled up my jars 100% full and allowed to sit overnight with normal lids on. My thought on this is to allow any spores and such to germinate and be rinsed off then PC’D. Next I dumped my grain one jar at a time and rinsed again and dripped dry again for 40min while this is happening I lift and drop the strainer to let more water out to ensure theres no extra water that will settle in the bottom of the jars. While Grains are allowed to dry all jars are soaked in bleach water then rinsed and allowed to air dry. • Cleaned kitchen and bleached the floor and walls. Loaded 8 quart jars with WBS substrate about a little more then half way full and allowed to sit overnight. Also making four jelly jars of BRF for making a slurry for the next set of WBS jars. The BRF is made from Whole grain and placed into blender.PF style jars are made to a 2:1:1 recipe of verm, flour, H20. All jars are to be sterilized in pressure cooker. Can do 7 Quart jars at a time in the PC. So after PC pressure comes down all jars are stored in a monotub that’s been washed out with bleach until the next day when they can be inoculated. Jars are PC’D fpr 90 min once PC has hit pressure of 15PSI. • Cleaned kitchen and wipe down walls and floor with a water and bleach solution and closed all windows in the house and doors that lead to the kitchen. In the one door way that has no door I hung a sheet with duct tape to help stop airflow. • Jars are removed from the tub when they have cooled down. They have set overnight ~12 hours, and the tub is placed on its side to use as a still air box. Also I have a piece of sponge that’s soaked in 90% Iso alcohol to place over the injection port and the needle is slid through the sponge when the jars are inoculated. (note* I have done grows and never used a still air box just used the sponge method and had good results). • Jars have been inoculated on mon aug 3 @1500. Jars are placed under bed and wil be checked in three days. Oh and FYI the is a LC or Puerto ricans

You should really be simmering your grains after the soak to get them to the maximum water content possible. A light simmer for about 15-20 minutes is what I do. You'll notice you're grains look "puffy". This is when I cut the heat and put them on window screens to dry up. Don't rinse after the simmer tho, you wan't the steam to dry up the outside of the grain. Here's some WBS I prepped last night, this was after about 15 minutes on a light simmer:

Thanks for the info but I have done a few grows before and never did a simmer. however then it was just pure millet where this time I have millet, milo, wheat, cracked corn and I think whole oats

I've also followed this tek using the no cook method. I've never had any issues. To each their own

Sounds good man, but I would try to avoid that cracked corn, it tends to get very starchy after the PC cycle and clumps together with the rest of your grains.

No problem man. I haven't gotten around to trying oats myself, but I've heard other cultivators get their oats at the local feed store for like 20$ or less. And make sure the hull is still attached to the outside of the grain before buying.
