A friend of mine has fruit bodies with what looks like mycelium on it. Are these mutant or safe to consume?

Even if they were mutants they are safe to consume. I eat mutant shroomies and never found anything wrong with them. It's just genetics that make them look all funky which makes them classified as "mutants" nothing bad about them other then the fact they aren't pleasant to look at lol

I think mutants are beautiful in their own weird way...I'm cloning a mutant that grew upside down... Cap on the bottom, extending stem. OP...Those are fine to eat...

I seem to get them a lot haha. Mine are always sporeless without veils and the caps even while pins look turned upwards. Weird stuff, but my last trip I ate some mutants plus some regular shrooms and it was amazing.

I hear most mutants are pretty potent...I haven't consumed alot of muties myself, but I am planning on changing that soon.
