i blocked its privilages out of paranoia. i couldnt figure out how to remove it completely so i removed every privilage and its ability to access or view communications

Disable automatic updates. I have the option to update to windows 10 manually, but I usually just update my system programs, anything related to networking and security (browsers, though idk if that means anything for security), and anti virus (maleware bytes ftw). Let the people with boundless time to learn new UIs try the new versions of windows out.
From what I've heard, windows and Linux both have their niche stregnths and weaknesses. Once you've been exposed to both, you will probably use both.

I tried to remove it and did for a minute. On restart it was back though Fuck you Windows 10! Go the fuck away!

i feel like youve never actually used windows 8 and are making assumptions.
there are no advertisements directly in windows 8 unless you download them yourself, or you buy a shitty PC from bestbuy or something with tons of bloatware
and you dont need to be connected to the internet to use anything that doesnt require it
