so made some agar following pastywhites tek and its been 3 weeks and I see no growth on any of the agar. im trying to grow some ATL #7 and I wanted to use agar and transfer to grain but im thinking I might just have to inoc the grain with my spore syringe... any ideas what the problem might be?

Maybe I'm not understanding... Did you drop spores on the agar...or take a clone to agar....or just make agar? Too many threads...sorry...I'm starting to go blind...lol

Sounds like he used a spore syringe as mentioned in the OP.
I had some pan cyan from a syringe never germinate on agar...nothing grew...I knocked up 3 quart jars and voila. Must have been rather old spores, especially with "exotics" that don't sell as fast on these vendors sites.
Probably your case.

No reason to prep shittons of grains when you can get all the info you need from a couple cups.
Any reason to isolate before strong fruiting strains have been identified from clone tissue?

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Agar is great, except when it doesn't work
Go ahead and inoculate a few jars and you can continue with your agar experiments while your jars are slowly leading you to myco success
