    #22034519 - 08/02/15 05:16 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I rescued this cactus from my grandmas house, and have began nursing it back to health. Any ideas what species of cactus this is??

I dig it because it has some relatively long spines compared to all of the blue myrtles I usually see. They work pretty good as grafting stock too.

Possibly Myrtillocactus schenckii.
Compare the spine layout to this one:

One rlly long dude surrounded by a ring of short ones.

The other possibility is M. cochal.
They both have much longer spined and greener skin compared to geos.

yeah, my vote goes for a Myrtillocactus, but not the geometrizans

I have one that threw out a pup. The pup has like 2 inch spines. It has not rooted, but almost.
