Gills with black margins - Panaeolus sp.?
    #22027466 - 08/01/15 09:24 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Hi, I've learnt that small conical mushrooms with thin stems and pale gills with a black margin are Panaeolus. So, possibly these are Panaeolus. If you can tell me the species, that would be great for my labelling.

I am not sure how to describe the habitat, but they were in very damp soil under or close to hardwood trees (edge of forest), under vegetation and herbaceous undersory.

Oh I see a Mycena

Then I got a very good match with Mycena rubromarginata.

How could you tell it's a Mycena not a Panaeolus?

The see-through, striated cap is the biggest give away

Edit: with the gill colour
