But...BE is bio efficiency. Dry weight of material used vs. Wet weight of the mushrooms. When doing bulk you ideally want minimum 100% BE first flush.
I promise you, i spent at least a few minutes searching Guess the next thing would be shroomery abbreviations.
But thank you, appreciated.

BE isn't really a shroomery term. Its what all the commercial mushroom farms use.
Higher BE = more cash.

We all have to start somewhere, so I'll dive right in.. nwalker, when you began this grow was it a MS to agar or straight to grain jars..? And was it your intention to select some good genetics from a fruiting strain, say as to maybe get genetics for clusters of small fruits.. Looking for that canopy?

Seeing as it was my first actual grow (though 2 failed pf teks) I didn't bother with agar. My intentions for this grow, get something that I can actually eat haha. I went in with no intentions but did lots of reading for a few months. It was just straight up inocc'd jars from a print that Aero (commented a little while ago) provided, and then spawned to coir/verm. Not so much my intention to select good genetics no, but at this point I feel like it would probably speed things up if I was to get a nice clone. Would love to get a really nice and efficient grow going next time.
Got to work on the FAE (which I'm realizing I'm going to have to do tomorrow, and widen the top holes a fair amount), getting a better method of inoculation than MS grain jars, even out the substrate and probably a few other things I'll learn on the way to make things better. Reading into some other substrates at the minute, but without needing to properly pasteurize it, coir is pretty easy.

Loosen the polyfil in the top holes until it's barely sitting in place. This will increase your FAE greatly and the pins will love it! Just keep an eye on the surface, don't let it dry out or growth will be stalled.
Inoculating grain jars with an agar wedge is a great method to achieve fast growth with a very low level of contam (always use the SAB).
And coir is very contam resistant, whether it's sterilized, bucket tek'd, or properly pasteurized, it still has a high level of success.

I did LC my 1st try... It seemed to all be going well, spawn looked good.. Hadn't learned to smell it yet then... Spawned to poo/verm... And it triched out on me... Looking back, I assume it was because I used te bucket tek w/ poo.. Will be properly pasteurising in the future..

The polyfill is nearly falling out at the minute. The holes are only an inch wide though, and so I really should widen them a little physically.

If you've got a bunch of hpoo and a food service thermometer and a big pot you're good to go on pasteurization.
You know, growing up I always thought "Fuck Louis, I like Brie and Camambert. " Now I know it's /true/ application. Thank you Monsieur Pasteur

I'll need to invest in one, I did the bucket tek because I was unsure whether or not you could use 75x with lid off, with water 2/3 jar depth and adjust heat to pasterize in it?

Yes, that's how I pasteurize my bulk substrates!! I suggest keeping the lid on the PC loosely, so the jars will all heat up evenly. AND if you can get a digital meat thermometer, you can monitor the temps outside the PC, it's soo much easier! Check out Frank's Pasteurization Tek, that's where I got started. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17246844#17246844
