Lactarius yes rufus ?
    #22026981 - 08/01/15 03:24 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Milk oozing mushrums in mixed wood, but mostly pine trees. Two specimens found (about 20m away) and assuming they are the same Lacturius species. The best match for me is Lactarius rufus, which is also pretty common.

However, you may suggest to check other alternatives. I still have the specimens in a moist chamber. I have a bad nose re scents!

I still had two specimens (4 days old) in moist chamber. I have wounded the specimens and smeared the white sap on paper and tissue paper. It did not stain the paper. Then I tried to taste the younger specimen. It gave a burning sensation after a while (8 seconds) . It was very strong. The older specimen did not had any fish-like smell.
