Must say that's a hella big pot, I like it!

I've notice they get root bound very quickly, it took of when I re-potted it and I've made a few cuttings from her.

Since I received her in mid march. She came with a fat bunch of roots. Jeez has it been that long? The strait shoot in the photo is recent and growing fast. I think I noticed it a month ago, when I planted the seed.

In that case she'll probably benefit from a repotting but you'll have to be careful with the little one when you're moving her.

That's what I suspected. I bottom watered the pot two weeks ago with the second rinse of some fish fertilizer. I don't recall ever feeding it more than once with a full dose. I've been cautious and usually wait a long time between feeding. The last time I fed was a couple weeks before seed germination. I am not fertilizing right now because of the seedling. I'm watching the shoot. So far it has been pretty vigorous, so I'm not certain its a root space issue. If it grows a lot I'll leave it alone until it looks like it needs it. I've thought about giving it a bottom watering with watered down fertilizer. I only have fish though. This seedling is like my baby in a wasteland. I want to do whatever it takes to make it happy so it can thrive and help others in its maturity.
Just noticed browning on the leaves. Shes a bit pale but leaning towards the light.

Hey dude, I've been thinking of a response, but can't seem to formulate comprehendible paragraphs right now so I'll just throw out some points of observation.
I like that the new growth on the seedling looks healthy and it wants to grow.
I'm not sure that bottom watering is reaching the seedling.
I find that at first a young plant grows more roots near the soil surface, then lower roots. By not having a large tap root, salvia d might not benefit as much with bottom watering
Do you pick the pot up to feel it's weight?. I find that a more reliable indicator that a soil visual, water consistency she likes.
Maybe the plant needs more nutes? Just a generic 10-10-10 might help if you think she does Of course never give full strength at first - 1/4 dose is what I like
I see the brown edges on the seedlings leaves, maybe caused from being wet? Maybe the young roots on the seedling are having a tough time "stretching in their legs" if it's tight with roots.
These seedlings are very fragile, so as you know think twice or more about every decision and input that is made.
If I were a doctor and made a housecall. First thing I would do is pick up the pot to judge weight, then I would look at the soil composition. More organic material is preferred over perlite/gravel but a good amount of p/g for good drainage. How is the water? She doesn't like a water with too much chlorine.
I'd like to check the light levels for intensity, I find young plants and seedlings will turn pale if it's too bright. My seedlings were surprisingly sensitive to this and would turn pale one day, then after moving back would be greened up the next day.
Hopefully I've managed to make enough sense, cuz I'm feeling kind of uhhhh slow right now to give you some thought on which actions may or may not be beneficial in your unique growing situation. I say unique because every grow does not have identical conditions.

A question(s) about salvia d to all that this applies to...
Is anyone thinking, planning, preparing to grow flowers this year? Who is going to make their own seeds this year?

Once I get my designated grow room cleaned out and repaired I will try. My plants receive 13 hours of CFL/filtered sunlight every day. I read in several places that say dropping the light to 10-12 hours would send it into flower mode.
I kind of want to wait until I have much larger plants though. I like the idea of a 2' tall plant first!

If my plants have recovered enough by winter when i move em into a heated greenhouse I will be hoping they flower again.
Then I will attempt hand pollination.

What kind of temps is that plant seeing? Judging by my recent misfortune with my plants, can I guess that that plant doesn't get all that much heat throughout the day?

Oh, well that's not too strange, I would say. The temps around here that started messing with mine are like in the high 90's, if not 100F (37C) every day recently.
Your temps are probably on the upper end of being good for sally.

Has anyone tried testing the effects of smaller, younger leaves versus older, larger leaves? My friend, and myself personally feel like the smaller, younger leaves have a more relaxing effect than the older ones.

Ya know, I've never thought to test the difference between the different size leaves... hmm.
I would have guessed there wouldn't be much difference between them as much as say, a young plant vs a mature plant.
