Religious people
    #22024141 - 07/31/15 12:13 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Who on here subscribes to one of the 3 abrahamic religions? Islam, Judaism, Christianity. And I'm not talking about being culturally religious like "Oh I'm a Catholic but I don't believe in god". I'm talking about do you believe that shit.

I think it is hard to be a believer in one of these religions and be a hardcore enlightened psychedelic user. I haven't been religious for years but I strongly remember after doing acid and DMT I grew strong contempt for religions and religious people most specifically Islam and Catholicism which have rotten and fucked up principles at their core.

I think the only place their are religious Psychedelic users are in South America and Mexico where the shamans practice some form of enlightened psychedelic Christianity. I remember hearing this Shaman/Ayahuascero singing some Jesus song in Spanish and talking about god and the Virgin Mary

I think it might be possible for a non-denominational or liberal Jewish person to use them and be hardcore but a Muslim user is impossible. Islam at its core demands absolute obedience to its dogma and psychedelics will revile Islamic teaching and concepts and it's extremely incompatible.

Spiritual beliefs are such a personal thing that I think it's hard to lump people into particular archetypes based on their profession of religion.

Religion and psycadelics can turn into psychosis quickly.  Most people in America are Christains, so this explains why the drugs are illegal.  Muslim terrorist have been known to take LSD.  Psychedelics can motivate and brainwash people, if they are willing participants.  The CIA experimented heavily in brainwashing.  With psychosis you believe everything,  with religion you believe everything.  Maybe people get fucked up on religion.  They call the high the "holy spirit', and this ghost directs them and can speak.  Who the fuck knew this wasn't schizophrenia?  If church was as interesting as being stoned on acid or weed or whatever, I'd show up from time to time.  But church isn't like that, the wine isn't whiskey.  I

The government experimented with using psychedelics to brainwash people, and then stopped because it didn't work.

I know very little about brainwashing.  A lot of the psych meds probably do an even better job.  Sometimes psych meds go horribly wrong too.  I think the Government doesn't want to radicalize people, even their own people.  Sober training keeps the, motivated enough as is.  But this is about religion, something I never quite accepted.  Religion never gave me much power over doubt.  Psycadelics was a religion to me,  but it never really gave answers.  I suppose I am a spiritual drifter.

I'm against all man made religion, because I believe its all bullshit. I do hope however that by some fucking miracle there is a god and a afterlife because meeting your loved ones after you die for eternity is so appealing.

The truly vile and corrupt burning in a lake of fire is also appealing.

Except in Islam, they believe in hell like a prison. Your time burning is directly proportional to your sins.

As someone who has gone from being suicidal to happy and functional as a result of psychiatric medication, sentiments like this kinda bother me.

To be honest it all sounds like a bunch of myths. Islam stands out most as being just a myth because of how isolated it is Western and Central Asia and how it almost exclusively panders to a group of peoples aka Arabs. Of course Turks, Bosniaks, Albanians, Pakis, Kazkahs, Tatars etc are all not Arabs and they are all Muslims but still Islam regardless is just a Arabian myth that also appeals to neighboring people. A arab made it for the sake of conquering Arabia and spreading his influence, nothing more. At least Christianity is more believable in that it panders to everyone not just a specific caste of people like Islam does. Jesus apparently also wasn't a conquering barbaric pedophile like Mohammed and well you know not being that makes it more believable that you are a righteous messenger of god. Regardless I'm an Ietsist and propose that there may or may not be some sort of transcendent powerful intelligent life force out there and that such a thing cannot be determined and thus religions like Islam and Christianity are pointless.

Everyone is entitled to believe what they want but that's just my opinion

Common who wants to burn in hell? I don't believe in sin, but I wish that an afterlife exists where you would stay with your loved ones for eternity. A person can dream right?

You missed the point.

Seeing loved ones and friends is swell. The wicked burning so they don't come and fuck up your "after party" is swell too.

As it says in Genesis 10:12 "dont be a dick"

The problem is the church not the religions.
There is a tradition in Islam called Sufism. Check it out.

Yeah Sufism is pretty awesome and many say it is the original school of Islam before it became politicized. Also have you guys seen the pictures of mosque ceilings? These guys HAD to have been taking some kind of tryptamines

You don't know what you are talking about. Most Muslims live in Asia. Islam is all inclusive as far as caste,race,region...

Alright there obviously are Muslims out there who are peaceful but it cannot be denied that the foundations of Islam are rotten, backward, and intolerant and that it's founder was a :pedobear: conquerer war lord who spread Islam with the sword.
