So ive been looking into peppers. I remeber a few years ago i ate this hot sauce called flashbang, my friend had it. I had no idea how hot it was at the time, and i dont remember it being as aweful as some of the youtube videos make it seem. I had like a tablespoon full of it. Maybe my memory is failing me. I remeber it burning for like an hour.
Anyway i was looking into this stuff and supposedly its 3.5 million scoville units. I dont remember it being unberable, but it was hotter then anything i had ever eaten. I had no idea until today i had eaten something hotter than the hottest pepper
Anyway anyone else eaten any really hot peppers? I may order a carolina reaper to see if its hotter than i remember the sauce being (which wasnt as hot as id expect from 3.5 mil lol)

Na fuck that. I like hotter food than pretty much anyone I know, but I ain't gonna straight up eat the hottest peppers in the world. And this is coming from a guy who can't get Thai restaurants to serve food as hot as he likes.

Holy hells, why would you eat something so insanely hot? I like a little heat in my food too, but I don't want it to peel the epidermis in my mouth.

Im guessing maybe i didnt get the full effect because it was sauce and not an actual pepper. Probably degraded or something

I haven't eaten any yet but I have some Ghost Peppers that are just a couple days into ripening and turning red.
Other than that, the hottest pepper I've ever had is Habaneros and some mutant Tabasco peppers that I grew that I know are way hotter than what Tabasco are supposed to be and surpass even Habaneros.

Usually a sauce is not 100% hot pepper, so if the pepper itself is so many scoville, that doesn't mean the sauce is gonna be. I know most "habanero" sauces really only have a fairly low percentage of habanero, and usually have lots of other stuff to kinda tone it down and add flavor

Whats the point of doing something like this, just to feel pain? There is no pleasure, good feelings or benefits from it as far as I am aware of.

You ever heard of Chili heads? Capsaicin gets you high, it's also good for opiate addicts.

Some people get addicted to it. I'm addicted to spicy as hell food. I like having my face feel like it's melting off.
One of the first things I plan to do with the Ghost Peppers is make Ghost Pepper Buffalo Wings. Same recipe as normal Buffalo Wings but you add in a pepper to the sauce to really kick it up. I might go with half a pepper (or less) my first time as I've never had them before and am not quite sure just how hot they are gonna be. I doubt it's anything I can't handle though.

I ate a piece of ghost pepper the size of my pinky nail once
It literally felt like I set off a firebomb in my mouth

The worst thing about really hot chilies is when they are on their way out.

I had a 3.5 million scoville extract too lol, out of my adoration for hot stuff. I've had all of the hot peppers at least most of the well known. Scorpions, c. reapers, ghost, bhut jolakia.
I sincerely love the stuff
