It would have to be a crazy, crazy situation to make me feel like I have to kill a cop to stay safe.
I suspect you have a highly skewed view of your rights and the place to exert them is in court, not the street.

Rights are often a matter of taste. Practically speaking though, never. Even if they violently invade your home with weapons you have no right to shoot back.

hey, i've never even been arrested. only time i've talked to cops i've been nothing but so respectful and polite, they practically seethe.
but i'm not talking about court, i'm talking about what if a cop, in uniform that is, tried to kill you for doing nothing. what do you do?

good answer. that's exactly my point. rights are a matter of taste.
same goes with every right, not just self-defence.

i don't fuck with cops, they don't fuck with me, we're better off that way. i'd probably try and kick one in the nuts if i was being apprehended and get charged...but then again no more children for you with two swift Soccer kicks to the dick. might even bite off an ear, you never know.

so to me this discussion kinda ties into discussions about our right to bear arms. Isn't our right to bear arms under the assumption that they could be used to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government?

I think that is the best reason to promote citizen gun ownership. Its men in uniform that have committed the vast majority of atrocities, killing and oppression in our recent history - they are the ones we need guns to defend ourselves from.

yeah, none ever seethed for me either, that was bullshit. once i got a noise complaint, and it was because my idiot friend left a window open and i didn't realize. those cops were already seething.
i literally have only ever had one other cop encounter. and he let me off seeing i had no previous record, and no warning either, and i ran a red light. should have got a ticket, but nah....

The cold reality is that in some cases you won't make it to court. If he's already willing to search me illegally then as a matter of self preservation I can't allow that person to have me in handcuffs. Who knows how far he is willing to go outside the law.

I'm not sure what you think I meant, but to clarify, I would have to turn his brain off FAST and get away even faster. I have no delusion that he would get in trouble for the illegal search if that's what it sounded like.

Then you are an idiot. If it is an illegal search the evidence will get thrown out and you will walk and may even have a cause of action against the municipality.
By the way, if the search finds contraband you actually are a lwabreaker and are only concerned about getting off on a technicality.

I disagree with you too, let's not call names. If there was any evidence, it MIGHT get thrown out or the police might do what they do. I'm a slow typer but if I took the time to share some stories with you and you knew how honest I am you would at least understand why I feel like I can NEVER be in police custody.
