Next time try and make your substrate a nice, level surface. You tend to get better flushes that way.

Its been a work in progress, some are normal sized, around 5mm, and some are bigger. We have taped over some of the holes, albeit you can't see that on the pic. The first flush was to dry, so we had to do something.

Flipping cakes is not a great idea. They started growing there because that's where conditions were best for it. Let them grow where they want to.

Yep.
and they are not doing well in there either. aerial mycelium and deformities. may be genetics forming the blobs, but I am starting to feel more and more that certain "mutants" are not really genetic mutants, but deformed fruit bodies due to an infection or otherwise stressed substrate.
If Pasty is around he can speak his position on this theory. He gave me some very good info including pics a while back
