Hi how r u, well today was my first attempt to inoculation the substrate after sterlization in pc next I used about 2 cups of water in my 6 quart pressure cooker but somehow water entered my jars during process. I drilled holes on lid top of jars, used duct tape to cover drilled holes on mason jars and also covered with foil. As far as other jars it was super hard for me to insert syringe into inoculation points .Is there any helpful advice to better my process what did I do wrong and what do I need to do?

Flame until the needle is red hot. It will turn black first (because you're using a lighter), then slowly turn red.
Flame sterilize between each JAR, not each inoculation hole. .25 cc a hole for 1cc total each BRF jar. Grains is 1CC as well.
After flame sterilization gently push down on the plunger. It'll shoot out steam until a drop of liquid comes out. Let the drop gently fall and then push your needle through the hole, making sure to angle it TOWARDS THE GLASS. I look down and check to make sure my needle is against the glass sometimes but you can feel it.
If you push and it feels difficult and nothing's coming out gently pull your needle upward while shooting. BE CAREFUL, this will immediately loosen up your needle and if you're pushing too hard you'll shoot way too many CCs into a hole.
Can you watch those mushroom videos? They really do a great job at showing you what to do.

Nope was not able but was able to watch rr videos followed step by step to the tee although the part in which he displayed how much water to fill into the pc was very unclear to me. So I figured that by having a 6 quart pc that I would need to add more water if I intended to get a proper sterlization of my jars due to the fact that I need to pc for 90 minutes. A minute amount of water as suggested in the videos would be Insufficient... blah blah... I made a triple layer stacked device so my jarz steam somehow manged to get inside...ah how to prevent this

A lot of people watch the videos, think they know better than RR, change something and mess up. I would guess you put too much water in and/or released pressure while the PC was cooling down.

It's not that I think I know more than he does by no means could my knowledge surpass his on this subject... hey I'm a newbie to microbiology all I know iz that I know nothing... when using that amount of water pc dried up and some how droplets of steam was inside the jar... will go back go the beginning and make sure that I am properly sealing jars with foil... and I'm going to use his prescribed amount of water... hopefully steam droplets will not enter my substrate jar

I have used probably the same PC you are using now. I put down a layer of rings, a layer of foil, a layer of 5 foil balls about the size of ping pong balls, and another layer of foil. Filled with water to just below jars. I only used foil on the jars no tape and never had any problems. It shouldn't be running dry, check your rubber gasket/seal, also after it reaches pressure turn your temp down just high enough to maintain correct pressure.

Glad your here ok this is what happened I inoculated one jar and as I put the flame to the syringe to sterlize it the solution from syringe gushed out. Afterwards I immediately put the syringe back in its casing. As I was about to try the inoculation process again I noticed that the casing from the syringe mentioned before had some of the content from the syringe inside of it... is this syringe contaminated

You mean the needle? As you flame sterilize your initial needle there should be no liquid. After you've pushed it out once the next time you flame sterilize there will be some liquid that comes out. Mine normally spits out in steam form. That's not contamination, that's just the nature of the beast.
Pics would help.

Yes I that was a question sorry for not using correct punctuation. My jars contain codensation, droplets of water on the inside. Read a link that was sent to me about the subject matter but didn't quite answer my question. Also I'm currently reading rr's notez and he doesn't really touch on that matter

Yes, you can bury all your contamed grains in one spot outside in your yard and you'll get shrooms occasionally.

Well then that's a really REALLY crappie jar. How do you plan on taking the sub out? Lol or are you going to fruit in the jar?

Lol, I know my jar sucks. Well when it fully colonizes I plan on going about removing the substrate in the traditional manner, but besides being crappy do you see signs of contamination.

Not really. Bruising isn't normally a good sign tho. But I'd be lying if I said I haven't used a bruised jar with success.

Before you post a pic pinch the mushroom. If it doesn't bruise blue it's 99% not psychedelic and may actually harm you. If it does, follow the link ND just posted and ask before consuming.

Yeah, the ones you grew... I'm talking about hunting wild mushrooms and potentially dying... I'd 100% rather have him not pick up anything that could potentially be poisonous and read another "Kid dies trying to find magic mushrooms" article.

Stamets says if it bruises blue and has dark purple spores, there are no deadly species that does both.

True. You are literally betting your life on it so you better be sure. Ovoideocystidiata is in parts of the north east and potent AF, blows cubes out of the water. P. subbalteatus Is pretty much everywhere. A link to find out what grows in your area: http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area

Sorry for being off topic guys, but Tagyo you should def try hunting, it is so much fun. Ovoids man! If you find some you will fall in love. Not nearly the body load and mindfuck as cubes, and way more visual IMO. They will be near streams or rivers in the spring and fall. They bruise fairly heavy most of the time. I am partial to wood lovers

No sir, that's a mushroom. Birth that sucker . Looks like there are metabolites (Those little yellow dots) so there's probably bacteria or something.
Dunk for 24 hours (this will not hurt the pins) and roll in dry verm. Watch part 3 and 4 to learn proper care:

Wipe off the uncolonized parts, probably a contam or if you're using the tall 1/2 pints it could be a moisture problem.

Not being mean, but you shouldn't bump a thread for at least 24 hours, and learn how to use the edit function. Just trying to keep you out of trouble Those need WAY more fresh air exchange, what are you using for a fruiting chamber? Harvest when the veil starts to break and the cap is opening up. Pick the bottom one.

You need 4-5" of perlite in there.
Drill holes on all sides, top and bottom, 2" apart 1/4" holes.
Raise that SGFC 4-12" off the ground.

Yes, I have fixed it. Maybe my fae sucked, I have no idea, but I have good news family. About three days ago I inoculated wbs now I see colonization, also I did not use polyfill nor tyvek. I hope that contamination does not find her way into the jars I inoculated without polyfill or tyvek. Finally, I used tea as a substitute for water in my brf substrate mix, haha hope all is well for with the bfr and tea combo.

Very diappointed with results from using agar and petri dishes. You need way more than ten non PCable dishes if you want a hugher success rate. My luck with wbs has been very crappy, I have wasted so much spore solution in the process, trial and error, this is definitely not a hobby for the weak hearted.

Sorry to hear about your luck man, gotta be frustrating. sometimes you can find a reasonable PC at Walmart, I found a smaller one with dust on it pushed to the back that had been marked down to 15 bucks. I use it for my no pour agar following pasty's write up http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19208976/fpart/1/vc/1 also make sure you have a decent still air box and check out Mad's write up on sterile technique http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21889950 and finally check out how Frank gets it done http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163 hopefully you can improve your chances of success. Good luck man.

One problemo, I have no more plates and upon observation that white shit looks like grey cobweb, but then I read that is super hard to get the cobweb contamination.

Often spores will do growths similar to it. The only way to know for sure is to get transfers going. Also I can see rizmorphs. Something cobweb doesn't have.
Quote:

its hard to tell from pictures because of shitty white balance settings but though the cobweb on this plate looks white it was pretty off white. the cube mycelium is in the middle it's the brighter white and it was completely overcame.

cobweb is a bit of a bad word since there's cobweb disease which is a disease of the fruit body crop. and then what shroomery calls cobweb mold which can be many species of molds with a similar morphology. but may have very different spores for instance

The short half pints work good, any small plastic storage container will work as long as it is marked pp5 recycling code on the bottom and you can see inside.
Also I use the powder agar from a Asian market instead of the bars and follow the write up in the link

Hello Bros, in the wee early hours of the morning, I conduct a transfer of colonized agar. I didn't have any of the suggested tools, so I used tweezers to do my bidding. Is this permissible or did I go against the grain?

Yep, probably not the easiest thing to use, make sure to fame sterilize red hot then cool in the receiving dish. I use an exacto knife from craft section at Walmart for a scapel. Thin changeable blades that are easy to flame, cool and cut

What can I say, with all this inspiration and support available here, how could I not appreciate the art for what it is. This beautiful experience, enabled me to cultivate myself as well. Prior to me becoming a member here , I didn't have any knowledge what so ever about cultivating mushrooms or about mushrooms period. You guys, complete strangers, have given me more help than humanly conceivable. If only humanity as a whole shared this sites loyalty towards each other.

So very true my friend. Quick question, for the cultivation of panaeolus cyanescens is there any way to avoid using Manure or straw without greatly reducing the your chances of success. It would be awesome if we had local groups that met up and did something from time to time. I'm beginning to want to experiment with a theory concerning the shifts of consciousness we experience as a result of consumption of this psychoactive substance. Can we really go to a plane of another plane of existence and come back with beneficial empirical knowledge?

No, straight cased grains, cvg, hpoo and cow manure compost, that's what he stated he used as his substrate correct? I don't have poo of any type nor do I have any straw, not saying that I will not go and get it, but can I use wbs then spawn to coir/verm mix

How silly of me not to use to search engine to find out wat cvg means! Now that I have an understanding of what cvg is can I only use it without the poo, straw, or hay. I checked all of the cultivation teks that are available via archives,I think, and none ever mentioned using only wbs and spawning to coir verm mix.

The thread title is
Pan Cyan Jamaica no poo (c/v/g)
So he did spawn > CVG (No poo) and I believe he cased with CVG.
Also I've seen cased grains with pan cyan go pretty well too. Just nowhere near as good as spawning to bulk

Safe! It seems to be common with cubes grown in climates not suited for them
