Hey found two different types of shrooms today growing in some woody kinda area, I'm in Victoria australia. I'm sure the pictures will describe them better than I can so I'll just let you see them. Found the 2 different kinds a couple of metres a way from each other just wondering if either type is active because I think the first ones might be, cheers for the help!

The first 6 photos are of Cortinarius and the last three are a Coprinellus. Nothing active or edible.

Can you explain the key differences between cortinarius and p. Subs, because maybe not in these photos but in real life, the first ones look a lot like the p sub photos on this site and I don't want to make this mistake in the future.

spore color and lack of any obvious bruising are key features

The photos were taken just after being picked so would any bruising have occurred by then?

yes, the bruising is nearly immediate and from what i've seen of sub pictures (i'm in the states mind u) they bruise pretty well.

the color looks off on the photography in the first two, but do you see that little ring of color on the stem in the third photo?  thats a pretty good photo, btw but still a bit out of focus.

those are spores deposited, and they're pretty brown/reddish.    you'd be looking for something purple-black, not redbrown but there may be some variation in spore color on those, i'm really not the expert.  just trying to help

grab some photos from someone else's thread where they're confirmed subs and put them side by side to yours.
then you can play the game where you see what's similar and different in each picture.

oh, and its my experience with the brown corts around here that they have a more woody feeling cap, but that may be my perception, there are certainly plenty of gloopy ones, like c. iodes
