reptile terrarium for bulk

I know aquariums are supposed to be inferior to tubs for bulk and pf tek but what about ported reptile terrariums? A friend of mine cracked his beardies home and moved him to a larger terrarium so now there's a 20 gal vented, lighted terrarium up for grabs. It has 4 3" circular grilled ports roughly 4 inche's from the base two up top and one on the lid along with a standard light fixture that hangs inside enclosure one could use for a 6000 k bulb with timer. Thinking tyvek over ports, the terrarium has covers for ports as well if all are not needed. To dial in, open and remove port covers until it's right....
Opinions??

Sounds good to me. You might consider homemade SFD/Easyfelt type covers on the outside of the ports, then controlling them by taping over parts of the area on the inside.
Polyballs would probably be hard to manage at 3in, and tyvek doesn't allow much meaningful GE as far as I can tell. Can't push my breath through it hardly at all.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Tyvek has plenty of GE, just make sure you use the kite-making tyvek (got it off amazon) vs. the post office tyvek. I've noticed a big different in colonization times. But, I only use SFD's now and they work great! A little investment goes a long way!

Good info on the kite tyvek.

I've only used postal tyvek. Enough GE so containers don't implode in the PC or whatever, but not trustworthy for colonization GE or tubs afaik.

When I first started with grains, I also used postal tyvek. It was from an outdated tek tho. So, I started searching for the best GE filters, and someone mentioned kite-making tyvek as the best kind to use. So i got a shitload from amazon for like 7 bucks. It was a great investment!

I don't know if I believe that someone didn't also suggest using the thing that's actually made to be a filter material. Kite tyvek was really the best suggestion?

I made a ton of filter disks from low loft quilters batting with a shitty iron. It sucked and I felt retarded ironing that long.
Easyfelt sounds like the way to go if you can find it.

No the SFD's have always been the recommended GE filter material, I just wanted to get something cheaper at the time. But now, SFD's are all I use!

I've used EZ felt before and I still have a bunch of it but I refuse to use it. I just can't fucking trust a filter material I can see through.

I doubled up on disks cause I could see through one. I'll switch to plastic twist top quarts once the dollarstore gets them again. I'm like so totally over Mason Jars.
