Brown Rice Flower is available at most health food stores and in most places even big regular grocery stores have it...use it and you already have the Vermiculite. I thought about a bunch of additives...but when you first start, from one noob to another... Keep it simple...BRF, Vermiculite, maybe Gypsum, if it's easy to find where you are.

I'm sorry I'm unfamiliar with the terms of bulk and cakes, very competent individual excited and ready to start. I watched a couple of videos about the cultivation process. Also bought a 6 quart pc is this big enough to sterilize pint sized mason jars

I would stick with rice unless you hear from someone who had done cakes with other grains, the amount of water might need to be adjusted with different grains, that's why.

I would start with wide mouth half pint jars...the short ones if you can find them... If not the tall half pint jelly jars work...just make sure you don't get the regular ones or you will never get the cake out of the jar at birthing time...A six quart will work for half pints...that's what I actually started with, but it won't fit quart size jars if you decide to move up to grains later. Listen to taGyo...he knows his stuff!!!

Read the instruction booklet. When the jigglier starts rattling, then it should be almost up to 15psi, let it go for another couple of minutes, then turn down the heat to medium and start the timer for 90 minutes.

I think the project is dead in the water,
Not sure if that's good or bad . IMO, don't waste the spores, go with BRF tek videos I linked you.

I'd just go out and buy the 1/2 pint wide mouths. Easier to get the mushroom out of and holds moisture in all the right places. Bigger jars, especially taller then the 1/2 pint wide mouth have the chance of seeping water to the bottom, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and halting mycelium colonization of that area.

Also, birthing the regular pint sized jar is a bitch! You'll end up breaking the jar in the process if you're not careful

Rye flour seems to be fine. If you can't find that, then maybe you can just grind up your quinoa for cakes. If someone has used it as a main grain, then its flour should work for cakes.
You can also grind up brown rice/rye berries/wbs for flour.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

I've found brown rice flour at Walmart...and other regular grocery stores...its usually in the baking isle or sometimes in the organic foods isle.

If you can't find brf, buy a bag of organic brown rice and a 15$ coffee bean grinder to make your own, works great.
