It doesn't matter how far he made it. If the cop was working by 'could haves', he would have taken into account the dude that just walked past that could have easily been killed by the cops actions.

I thought everyone here rejoiced in the death of cops
you were working 'could haves' with this statement

The guy could have driven away, registered for school, become a doctor, and cured aids.
None of this hypothetical nonsense happened. What we have are the facts. He committed a misdemeanor by failing to comply to the commands of an "officer". This does not justify the use of deadly force. This is why the officer was fired and arrested. He broke the law. Case closed.

obviously if you read the entire statement and not cherry pick one sentence and you would determine that i was making the point that you don't know what state of mind the guy was in, other than he is a law breaker, with a weapon, so i made it even easier to understand by pointing out a weapon could be packed with bubble gum to flip the situation around for you when you mentioned the car full of bio
so again, the point is a cops job is safty, there's a crazy person, with a weapon, who could have been drunk, on meth, mentally insane, you don't know. your job as a cop is to prevent those possibilitys, to prevent crime from happening. when he decided to start that car and run, he opened the door to all those possibilitys, he committed a crime, and opened the door up to lots of other crimes, crimes that are preventable if action is taken. henceforth, the sooner action is taken the better.
you are looking at this from a hindsight point of view, which is wrong, these are realtime events that require snapshot actions, to PREVENT people from getting hurt, and its a CRIMINAL causing all this.
again, if he wasn't in a car, you would have a point, but he was, and he started it, and tried to drive off with a cop hanging out of his window, thats why the cop kept screaming to stop, because he wasn't stopping.......

I disagree. I think they have always done this and just lied about it, covered it up and citizens were fine to go along with it. Now there are cameras and more citizens are pissed off so the shit they have always done is visible and less acceptable.

If you watch the video it appears he gets shot as he's starting the vehicle. That is unacceptable policing. The car doesn't start moving until he's been shot.

could you lie a little more? if it was simply the guy turning the car on dont you think the car would have stayed put and not sped off down the street, I mean how does a dead guy put the car into drive, start driving up the street before crashing into a utility pole... I mean he only turned it on right.

If you're wondering why this guy was indicted so quickly and swiftly, the prosecutor gave us a big clue, saying about university police: "they're not cops"

I wonder how police brutality would change as a whole in this country, if a group of 100-1,000 black serial killers started killing of the families of cops across the country, 10 cop's families murdered for every time a cop murdered a citizen..lol..
Then again, screw the "what ifs". Be the change you want to see..that's what I always say.

Well most cops (at least the ones I met) are amazing and do their job well, so i can see why people woukd feel the need to defend cops since every video of one man doing sometging wrongs turns into "all cops this..." every single time, this one in the video though....fuck him
And I hope people don't target their families either, a lot of the good cops would get screwed that way too.

I can't really make any judgement about the guy's hands because its so quick, literally less than a second the cop shoots him.
Yeah good point !
If some dude was hanging onto my window pointing a gun at me, I'd be flooring the fucking gas, not slowing down and letting fate decide what happens.
It seems you've done too much acid if you think that's a wise choice to make when a cop (some dude ) is at your window.
The guy would still be alive were it not for his own stupidity.
