Sclerotia - bulk or no bulk?
    #22015139 - 07/29/15 01:48 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hi all,

I've got some sclerotia-producing mycelium in a couple of jars (with tiny stones in them), and I'd like to go ahead and inoculate big amounts in order to grow nice big stones.

I'm having a hard time with big amounts of rye seeds, they keep contaminating on me.
So my question is this:

If I take relatively small amounts of colonised rye seeds and I spawn them to coir + verm - would I get stones after a few months or does it only works if I use pure rye seeds?

Thanks

You would get stones but they will have coir and verm in them....

I wouldn't use any verm, but just coir should work fine.

Just use rye grass seed. Stone producers love it and if you have a decent culture, you'll get plenty of stones with only a few jars.
