getting old and death
    #22015074 - 07/29/15 01:30 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

i often find my thoughts gravitating towards a specific subject these days, especially when i look at old pictures and how those people have changed in such a short period of time.

It really bugs me how old i am right now and to think of how things were ten years ago and that life really is short, as i'll be pushing up daisies in pretty much no time. in twenty years i will probably have a slew of various health problems, and my mind wont be sharp. i'd just rather not be confined to a nursing home after all that or have nothing going on in life. sitting on a couch watching a tv for days on end sounds pretty awful.

it's weird to think that i'm almost halfway through my life. a part of me wants more time, another is pretty much over all of this.

I find myself thinking similarly. Sometimes I wish I could go back just to not feel "halfway there" and find myself feeling like I'm "running out of time". That's a shit feeling. Plus there are a few things I wish I had done differently.

The key to staying young is to suck the youth out of young people when you have sex with them :cookiemonster:

Cross the bridge when you come to it.
Old is just a state of mind.
I'm more active and healthier now then in my twenties.

its funny that people think they are halfway to death then find out they have cancer a year from now, life is short, shorter than you think, especially for the folk on these boards

i think you should rethink your statistics, lots of people die extremely young everywhere, even more so in developing countries.

you're focusing on the negative aspects of the passing of time.

(I know it's cliche but this is true >) Everyday is a gift, and it's never promised.
I'm stoked to wake up breathing everyday, and I'm totally fine with not existing in this body whenever that day comes.  Thinking about death is a really healthy way to remind yourself to suck the joy out of every moment.

Accept it, and gain strength from it :sunny:

your right, we live in a time and age where everyone dies old and the shroomery is the pride and joy of this civilization with extraordinary genetics, wealth, and access to healthcare, and avoids careless and dangerous activies, with zombietoes being the leader on this front
