Why do I always have to be reminded that life is shit. 1

I guess I just feel like ranting, been miserable and depressed basically my whole life, every time I get a glimpse of a happy life, something immediately comes to throw that shit out the window.
I have 2 dogs, mine is this one, my family got another dog about a year ago, found in a ditch down south and was shipped up north where we adopted her, was the sweetest dog on the planet, immediately rolls over if you even look at her and just wants attention and love, but is very skiddish.
Hard to see, but the black one in this picture (and the one this thread is about) started getting a slight limp about 2 months ago, we took her to the vet about her legs before and they said she was fine and that it wasn't a big deal, about 3 weeks ago, she got limes vaccination, and started limping really bad ever since.
We took her back a few times because of how bad it is, and they just gave us meds and told us it is probably just a reaction and should pass within 2 weeks, she's still limping bad so my parents decided to take her today and made them take x rays.
Found out she has about 30 pellets inside of her, someone was shooting the shit out of her before she was found, has severe arthritis throughout her whole body, both her back legs (I think they said the knees?) are so bad that surgery MIGHT be able to help said the vet, and has hip displacement. Then they proceed to tell us how based on the xrays, she's going to get progressively worse, within a year they think she might not be able to stand, and soon she might start acting like she is in real pain (meaning yelping and things of that nature, not being able to get up steps, or even stand) and they don't know whether they can even fix anything and that surgery for anything would be a gamble.
And they are recommending that within 6 months it would be in the best interest of the dog to put her down, LIKE WHAT THE FUCK, are you kidding me? She's not even 3 years old, had a shit life where humans basically abused and shot the fuck out of her before she was found, and still loves people to no end and is the sweetest dog, and they want us to put her down? This world is seriously shit, I haven't had this dog for even a year but I love the thing, dog has had nothing but a shit life and continues to get the shit end of the stick, where is the justice in this fucked up reality. I just needed to vent I guess, talk shit, or say whatever you want about it, idk what to do about it at this point, I'll find out more at 5 when I go pick her up. Stupid to ask these questions, but it's always dumb shit like this that makes you wonder, like what could this amazing dog of done to deserve being abused/tortured by people, just to end up having it's own body fuck it over, all the while knowing there isn't a reason, besides life being shit.

I am sorry about this whole situation for you. And that poor sweet baby. I understand you're feeling the way you do. I totally relate to that feeling in my own life.

wow that's awful. did the pellets ultimately give her the health problems she has now? your vets are fucking retarded, you went back three times to get the right diagnosis, shit, they only did the scans towards the end... tell them to fuck off and ask a better mor experienced vet. arthritis can be managed right? there's probably some other ways around this dude, but it's probably gonna be expensive

But--I do believe everything happens for a reason and no I sometimes don't understand why awful things happen. But I think what I'm feeling about this situation for you and that dog is that she was found by you for a reason and that yes an awful thing happened to her that can't be taken back and may very well effect the rest of her life. But--you came into her life to give her the love she needed and deserves. You are a blessing to her. And she to you. You have to look at it like that. With a spirit of love and understanding. Trying to find the positive and letting every situation be an avenue or lesson that will ultimately shape you into a better person for it.

things happen because of reasons, not for them. that dog is not there to teach op some existential life lesson, he will learn it because of what is inevitably coming.

"Things happen because of reasons". I agree with that. I just also think they happen for reasons too.

You guys can't give in to this crap. OP please don't put the dog down unless the dog tells you to. It can be hard as dogs will cling onto life for you. I have seen it. My mother put her dog down long after it was due. She was very selfish in that manner. Just do what is best for her. If you think she can pull through do it but don't do it for you.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Well I can guarantee that we won't be putting the dog down unless it's an absolute necessity, we're fearing there is something more they didn't say, because they said we'll go over it in detail at five when we go to pick her up, but still sounds strange that they decided to tell us over the phone that we might end up having to put her down soon.
I really hope it's manageable, I'm not too familiar with medical terms but apparently it's chronic arthritis throughout her body and her front paws, she has bad hip displacement, a lot of pellets inside of her, and I just found out that she has torn ligaments in her back legs as well.
It's fucking bullshit, we've been telling this place for over 2 months now that there is something clearly wrong with her, and they just keep brushing her off, then when they finally take xrays, we get all this bullshit. Dog isn't even 3 yet, we don't know her exact age because whoever found her found her in a ditch with no collars or anything and they tried for 2 months but couldn't find an owner until she was shipped up north, but they assumed around 1 1/2 years old when she was found.

Well, fucking doctor wasn't there so he's supposed to be calling us later to go over shit.

But we got some of the images of the pellets they were talking about, in the one picture some of the specs are just a dirty ass screen and flash, but the white dots in her xray we're told is from a shotgun. If anyone is a vet of sorts can you chime in to what you see in these if anything? I don't know what xrays are supposed to look like but I figured it be noticeable the way they were describing it.

honestly bro, i still think you should just give that vet office the finger. i don't really care for how they've gone about everything, get another opinion from someone who's got more experience and what not. there's got to be some pain management options.

We will be, it's a joke that they immediately suggested putting her down, and we don't mind spending the money for managing it, she's too young and awesome a dog to give up hope that quickly.

OP, my heart goes out to you dude... I'm sorry that you're feeling depressed & I'm sorry about the situation your in right now concerning your dog's health. I know this sounds a little pessimistic but try to make whatever time your dog has left in this world the best of her whole life. She really deserves it after all that she has been through. Love her & she will love you back. I sincerely hope things get better for you & your dog. Take care brother. Message me if you ever need to.

You can see the hip dysplasia in the xray. Get some Glucosamine for your dog it works wonders for dogs with arthritis and dysplasia also some dog ant inflammatory medicine. Its also really good for the dog to swim if you have a pool helps develope muscles with out a load on the joints. Also he looks a little plump haha he could lose a few pounds that would help his hips. My great Dane had the same issues and lived to be 10 years old.

Dont you think its kind of cruel to keep a dog suffering if its going to die soon anyway? Thats a bit selfish. You may think the dog is doing ok, but dogs cant tell you can they? Get a 2nd opinion but i would think they would say the same thing.
Hold on tightly, let go lightly.
