Is it okay to add hydrated lime to my monotubs?

I have noticed that some growers will add a small amount of hydrated lime to their casing layers (I personally do not case), but I was wondering if it would be beneficial to add a small amount of lime when mixing and pasteurizing my coir/verm/gypsum bulk substrate?  If so, how much should I add to a typical recipe of 1 brick coir, 2 quarts verm, and 1/4 quart gypsum?

1-2% About a small spoon for bulk.. Make sure you pick a spoon you can remember ^_^

I use it in my bulk, on my casings and in my soak water.

no point really, we lime things to raise pH so contam spores wont germinate on it
but coir, verm, gypsum does that all by themselves.

peat based casing layers should get limed as you say, some even lime coffee grinds when used as bulk sub.
