One of my favorite after effects from mushrooms

Hi, I wanted to talk about one of the main changes I've experienced after my few (only 3 until now) psychedelic experiences with mushrooms and sclerotia.
Since my first trip, I've noticed an increased ability to focus on details that usually are filtered and do not receive my attention. This happens especially while going for a walk in nature or while observing natural things (trees, the sky, the clouds, etc.). Actually, after my first trip I would find myself looking at the sky and the clouds for long periods of time, asking myself why almost everyone else is so focused on their mobile phones, missing that beauty lol.
Before using mushrooms, I would just walk to whatever my destination may have been without paying too much attention to my surroundings which now, looking backwards, feels a bit like missing a lot of experiences from the present moment. This is still the same in a lot of situations, which I find quite sad, but it's easier to control since now, whenever I want to, I can pay close attention to the little details and changes in the things I'm perceiving and almost get a light trippy feeling (it feels similar to meditating, and probably would fit into that definition). Of course this isn't nearly as intense as during a trip but it's something interesting I've noticed since my first trip. Maybe I should mention that all my trips have made me feel this "being completely in the present and experiencing it without the usual filtering", so I guess it may depend on what kind of trips you've had and may not be the same for everyone.
Nevertheless I would like to know if this is a common long-term effect and what your personal experiences are like. It sure is something I really like
Peace

Yes but your mind will adjust and compensate if you keep opening the filters too often.
So by all means enjoy it and appreciate those clouds but be aware this open-ness comes at the expense of a loss of focus on your intentions, and if you trip again before getting back to baseline you risk ruining your trip experiences and then having to endure a re-adjustment period when you have extra tunnel vision.
You don't get much free lunch, basically.

It has changed the way I think. I often have to stop and think about everything. The world has definitely become much more of an amazing place and there are soo many things to think about. No one should ever get bored.

I don't trip often, I've always done a break of 2 months at least. I think that extreme open-ness you describe is what happens the days after a trip but then I just readjust to the "normal" routine. What I mean is it has given me more appreciation for the little details that are normally skipped and that it's easier for me now to bring my attention completely to the present moment and become more open, but when I need to concentrate on something where those details would be a distraction it's not difficult at all, contrary to what happens during a trip^^
What do you mean by back to baseline? I don't think I've ever gone entirely back to the baseline I had before tripping, since it has definitely changed me in some ways lol If you mean readjusting completely to ordinary life, that tends to happen within a week after tripping and I always wait much longer than that to trip again.

Yes, it's a common effect and it's a good thing, BTW.

honestly I never got the whole gay feeling from mushrooms or any psychedelic.
I have nothing against gay people. But also on mushrooms I do not get horny for woman either. I just don't think about sex or sexual orientation at all on psychedelics

Yes, happened to me too, its easy to stay in the infinite loop of the now within myself, seeing lots of things, dumbfounded, that i dont want to even move a finger, no sex desire, but when my girl kiss me or something, my focus changes and thats when that other type of maginc happens if you know what i mean (all of this with LSD, never tested mushrooms, will see its kinda the same..) Cheers my friend.

Thanks for all your replies.
I never got that gay feeling either haha but I did feel a profound connection with my friends and everything else, especially on my second trip.

For me it is a good thing, that's for sure. I tend to overanalyze and "be a lot in my head" if you know what I mean. This helps me get a bit out of my head and just be. During my trips however there's a lot of both, thinking and feeling, but I don't get stuck in thought loops, probably because I focus on letting the thoughts flow

Haven't tried LSD yet. I would really like to but I want to be sure what I'm getting is the real deal. Enjoy your mushrooms you won't be disappointed

I'm with you in the mushrooms department. But LSD would have to be the most sexual experience out there. Everything is sex on acid. It's tantric.

Sex on acid is amazing but somewhat distracting and hard to finish. I never have any sexually thoughts or horniness on shrooms. But i am a lot more aware of love in general. It's a much more emotional love and less physical oriented. And the gay stuff? May be just your subconscious showing you how gay you really are haha. I've had bonding thoughts and experiences where I feel more connected and loving of other men, but nothing to the point of homosexuality.
