Condensation Conundrum

I see the 2 of my jars have accumulated a little condensation on the portion pressed against the mycelium. The room got too hot at one point. I live on humid Long Island and someone ran the drier without opening the window. Is not allot at all, very very small droplets are hugging the jar around the mycelium but I wonder If this could be a potential problem. The room is always 78 but during this period it jumped to over 80. Should I put a DampRid next to them? Its probably not a problem (or even beneficial) but I need to make sure. Any info would be appreciated.

The condensation is not a problem. It's good that you were able to get your temperatures in check quickly too. The condensation is merely a bi-product of the glass getting hot then cooling back down. No need for damp rid. Just keep them temperatures in check.

I remember being in this state of panic all the time about my cakes.. If I could go back and tell my noob self something it would be to start trying out grain while you wait for the PF cakes to colonize, that should take your mind off your cakes and allow them to colonized with out being handled every hour.

Hey thanks for the reassurance folks. I was actually thinking of doing just that Mike. I made a thread if you would like to make suggestions.

I took your advice and I actually went ahead and bought 1 pre sterilized rye berry spawn bag from Shroom Supply for a mono minitube or invitro distraction project. As well as 5 spawn bags and clamps for future experimentation. It was like 15 bucks total with shipping.
I also got the Cambodian strain which is apparently a EXTREMELY fast growing mycelium. Another Shroomery buddy started inoculating jars the same day as me. He started seeing heavy colonization on day 2!

When colonizing bulk tubs and the spawn bags pay attention to your room temp where you are colonizing. Temperatures over 78-80F, when colonizing tubs, can get risky. You are risking contamination when room temps go above 80F. Better off to be safe at 75F.
