THAT LION WAS KILLED BECAUSE IT WAS AFRICAN.

Also who tf cares. They're not an endangered species.

Yeah, they kind of are.  That's why they have giant preserves that these assholes baited him to leave

Conversation status is listed as vulnerable, not endangered.

The blue fin tuna, is one stage below vulnerable, and is classified as endangered.

How come everyone's mad at the death of one lion, and not angry at the deaths of thousands of tuna? How come no one is angry at that national geographic show about them fishing for blue fins?

Because you guys all only care about whatever bullshit the media spoon feeds you.

Lions aren't considered endangered on the ICUN protected species list.

Because people eat tuna and we think baiting to lure off a preserve s pretty shitty.  He skinned and took the pelt and the head and left the rest.  It also took 40 hours of tracking to finally finish Cecil off.

That is not my ethos.  They were fucking assholes.  And I don't hunt with a crossbow.  A crossbow is for people who are to lazy to learn to use a real bow.  This guy has also had law issues in re hunting before.  He is fucked.

It just bothers me that everyone is so up in arms about a single lion when they don't give two shits about Japan mass slaughtering whales, or hunting tuna into extinction for sushi.

The tv series I was referring to, is the one about them sport fishing bluefins off the coast of mass somewhere. And the primary country of origin for most sushi fish around the entire world is japan actually.

And yes, actually, bluefins are far more endangered than you would think.

What do you mean they're not quite there? Not as endangered as lions? Because they're more endangered than lions according to the IUCN lists.

I'm confused at what points you're trying to make here.

This is the dumbest debate tactic I have heard used with regard to the widespread disgust over Cecil's slaughter.

Just because people care about this, doesn't mean they don't also care about other issues. Am I supposed to list everything I think is bad with the world as an addendum every time I comment about Cecil?

Fishing boats with fishing poles are still catching them.  They aren't netted or harvested with long lines left for a week.  As far as I know that is how you have to catch them.  Lions you can actually count pretty accurately because you can see them.

Is your facebook feed full of shit about the other animals in question?

No? Have you ever seen anyone post anything about animal conservation before? No?

Didn't think so.

Look, I think you're a smart dude, but are you seriously trying to say you have a better idea of how many tuna there are left than the people who study them?

I mean, I can see your point of saying the lions count is more accurate, but you don't know if the tuna count is inaccurate to the point where, it's WORSE than we think it is, or better than we think it is like you say.

You're the last person I'd ever pick to just assume anything, especially when there's data arguing the latter.

I hope one day you realize that you're not any better than all the other animals on the earth.
I've seen you spout off in so many threads with, "who gives a shit about animals with walnut brains", "they'd be extinct without us", etc.

you lack compassion, and you're not all that fucking great man.  get off your pedestal.

I don't trust the people who study them.  They make money from alarmism.

Do you know the best way to determine hiw many tuna there are?  How many you can catch in a week.  Anything else is zoom zoom.  Tuna is different.  You have to catch it with a hook and line.  No net, no longline.

do you want me to dig for the quotes?  I'm basing my opinion of you based on things you've said.

where's your grounds?

if you're trying to infer that I don't have compassion for you with my above comment, I wouldn't feel the need to say anything to you, and I'd let you go on being bitter, pessimistic, and rude, if that was the case.
