I certainly hope he loses his practice. I mean, this guy is the perfect stereotype of the sadistic dentist.

He HAD to see the collar, especially if he had a scope. You're looking for a kill shot basically the size of your fist...if you can see that, you can surely see a brightly colored tracking collar!
The dude is a narcissistic trophy killer who somehow gets his rocks off by what is hanging on his wall....not the quality of the hunt.
Fuck him.
kindly point out the collar
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/zimbabwe/11769336/Cecil-the-lions-death-There-was-blood-in-the-sand.-My-immediate-response-was-anger.html
in the first few hundred images I dont see the collar on him in any of the pictures, do they only put the collar on him when he's being hunted? do you think maybe the mane covers the collar and it wasnt visible under all that shaggy hair?

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cecil-lion-illegall-poached-killed-american-hunter-zimbabwe-groups-say/
That's a good point pris...I didn't think of that ...maybe it was covered by the mane. But the fact is...They tied a dead animal to a truck to lure the lion out of the park..(baiting lions is deemed unethical and illegal in Zimbabwe) Also they hunted at night. Basically hiding and shooting a tame animal with a high powered crossbow in a spotlight. It then took over 40 hrs. to track and dispatch the animal with a gun.
Any way you put it, this is not a sporting hunt. I was brought up hunting in an ethical and responsible way...always eating what I kill. This man just wanted a head...unfortunately, the Minneapolis Zoo wouldn't let him shoot a lion through the cage, so he had to fly to Zimbabwe. I despise people like this....Again, I repeat....Fuck him.
hunting over bait is considered unethical there but it's apparently not illegal, it's the most common method for hunting cheetahs. now we've established that this radio collar may not have been visible, now we need to establish how a man from Minneapolis knew the lion to be a 'tame' lion, that it wasnt the work of some opportunistic dickheads calling themselves hunting guides to bilk this guy out of thousands of bucks he was paying for a lion hunt
would you like to tell us how this guy knew the lion was 'tame'?

I believe it is illegal to bait wild game for the purposes of hunting. For instance you cannot leave a salt lick out in order to guarantee a place deer will frequent. What they did to lure the lion off the preserve was heinous. I've never really thought much of people who pay huge sums to hunt in game farms and such. I've hunted enough in my life and failed often enough that I know how hard it should be. They cheated.

It is illegal to bait there...as the guide is facing 15 yrs.in jail. They are also looking for the dentist for charges. I stand by what I said Pris....The lion was used to people...therefore (tame) ...I doubt they would have drawn a wild lion (one not used to people) into their ambush. Is that simple enough?

That makes sense. He wasn't a pet but he wasn't a threat either and was comfortable around humans and because he lived on a preserve he knew there was no threat from them. So they lured him out with bait. Fucking assholes. That guide is gonna get fucked. The dentist said he had no idea what the deal was because he trusted the guide and the farmer. The dentist is already getting fucked. I still think he is an asshole for even participating in a hunt like that but I don't think he knew what was going on. The guide sure did.

Sure were all enchanted with the stories peter capstick or the wild tales of hunting dangerous big game in the hayday of the safari. But as with most things hunting methods/ethics/regulations have change drmatically since those days. What those dewds did was simply barbaric and stands against a true hunters ideals.

Yeah I think that romantic notion that an animal's life can be taken in a sacred and beautiful way is part of what keeps sport hunting going. Especially when the sacred and beautiful art boils down to cleaning people's teeth for months on end so you can fork over cash to desperate people to pile one final massive exploitation onto a creature that has been forced to live as a spectacle totally broken of it's natural instincts. It's like, what have we become that is what passes for macho these days.

Lions being outnumbered by man have chance in survival considering the reduction in population the hunter being hunted the offsett being a creation of species thr price carries a lionhead at 50KUSD a species in which not every brand is two reproduce functionally as darwinsim theory suggest no species has a 100% rate of survival

Anyway you look at it.. The guy is a piece of shit.
He kills for fun. What do we do to children when they kill for fun? Oh yeah, we flag them as psycho and watch the fuck out of them to make sure they don't murder someone when they're older.
This guy is a man child psycho. Whether the lion was famous or not, big game trophy hunting is disgusting.

I hope he suffers severe consequences. Does anyone know what has happened to him so far?
Protesters outside his business, PETA calling for him to be hanged, death threats...
Please post any updates about him being punished, persecuted or charged.
