Using Extra inoculate

Hey Shroomites! This is my first post on Shroomery and I just started cultivating my first batch and so far they are colonizing pretty well. When I was inoculating the jars, I accidentally started using a lot more than 1/4cc per hole (probably around 1cc per hole). I was wondering how much of an effect this will have on my colonization rate and whether or not it will cause issues down the line. Thanks for your help and sorry in advance if this has been answered before, I couldn't find any threads pertaining to this. Thanks again! -Wolfie

That will probably throw off your moisture content by A LOT. Watch them and see if they germ in 7-14 days . Did you shoot towards the edge of the glass?
In the meantime if you have spare jars I would re-do it.

All the jars have some sort of germination (its been 8 days). Some have a lot more than others, but they are all still germinating. Does that mean I'm safe, or not really. Also I messed up at aiming only at the sides of the jar (it was surprisingly difficult to control the syringe, so some inoculant made it into the cake as opposed to just the outside.

ahaha actually one time I legit pushed in half of a syringe worth of inoculant by accident, and come to my surprise, right when it germinated, 1/3 of the fucking jar was colonized!
now maybe I got lucky but I was pleasantly suprised

You'll probably be fine. You just want to be careful next time. The biggest risk is throwing off the moisture content which could lead to contams. No need to toss the jars or anything like that, just monitor them, wait about 5 days after they appear fully colonized, and if they don't look contaminated, birth and dunk overnight (assuming you are doing the pf tek).

Wait it out. I'm not surprised you had germination so quickly.

I've done less and fucked up my moisture content leading to no germination but no contams either.

I'd just let it rock until I saw a contam lol. Start a new project in the meantime.
