Jar Storage After Inoculation & Cat Contaminant Possibility?
    #22011714 - 07/28/15 07:53 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

I was wondering where the best place to store my inoculated jars during the period of mycelium growth? I am currently keeping them in my pantry which is around 68-70 degrees. I was wondering if it would be better to place the jars on the hot water tank with a light towel over them? Or would that run a risk of overheating? I touched the top of the hot water tank and it was only slightly warm to the touch.

Also, silly question, but I have my cat litter box in the pantry (which is approximately 9x3 ft. Would that have any increased risk to contaminants?

The pantry is fine.

If you have a proper filter no. I'd probably remove it from the pantry though. Colonization is great from 70-80, a little lower then 70 is fine. It will be a bit slower but it'll be worth it in the end.
