Agar to Liquid Culture?
    #22009160 - 07/28/15 11:54 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

So I was curious if you can successfully transfer some agar into a jar of LC? I saw a tek from here but it was written over a decade ago.

Thanks.

Yes you can.

Use the search engine:

Read forum rules. This belongs in mushroom cult, gourmet/med, or TNF. The Noob Forum is great because you get solid answers and AMU members are always a great help too.

Yes, take an agar wedge and drop it into the liquid in a sterile environment, you can break the wedge up if you have a stir plate handy, if not one can be made readily from old computer parts.

Breaking the wedge up is good for spreading the mycelium in small pieces throughout the liquid and it will grow much faster.

Your tek is far more sterile than dropping an agar wedge in an lc?
