Some Cacti Varieties. Please ID

Found some cacti in my neighborhood. Looking for San Pedro. I think I found one but because it's not flowering I cant definitively ID it.

This is just another ornamental variety I found. Out of curiosity, what is it?

This one's about to flower. Big beautiful pink calyxes. Those spines look threatening. Latin and common name appreciated.

The first one is definitely a san pedro.
The second one is a Cereus sp.

Merci beaucoup,
What kind of cereus? Do you think a little over a foot of the SP would be enough? thats what the guide recommends.

I can't ID cereus... Sorry.
For the pedro, if you want to trip, I've never ate cacti so I can't tell. If you want to root and grow it, a one foot cutting is perfect. Larger cuttings may take more time to root and little cuttings take forever to put out new growth.

Yeah my guesses are echinopsis pachanoi and cereus peruvianus.
1ft should be enough gauging by their health and diameter.
Beautiful cacti!

Yeah they are beautiful. I took as little of a foot as possible and toward the lower end. It'd be nice to see them both flower.

Its near a fence but its outside the property. If its unethical, so be it. Dont plan on doing it again. I just had to satisfy my curiosity. It was developing well anyway so its not a total destruction of the plant. There have already been parts chopped off. There are like two really big ones. I'm guessing someone has had the same idea.

I was going to bring this up too. The way your OP is worded, it doesn't sound like you have permission take cuttings or anything yet. So without jumping to conclusions, just please be sure you secure permission to take some cuttings before you just go hacking away at someone else's garden...

Why not meet the owner and give him a bottle of wine or something and say you admired his cacti and that you are a collector of columnar cacti or something. You could steal some photos from these forum and show them to the owner and claim them to be your garden.
Dont just cut and steal, I would be pissed off if someone did that to my cacti.

Normally if you simply ask they will give you at least a couple feet

Yea, it is not ethical, but it is illegal to poach plants. You have admitted as much. Lame, really lame. I would shoot someone if I caught them at my garden.

I wish banning was actually enforced for this rule. OP even openly admitted to it. This brings bad juju to our garden.
