Petri, How does it look ?
    #22007768 - 07/28/15 01:39 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guys

I just wanted some feed back on this petri. This is a second transfer I made, I've been struggling with contam and think the problem is spawn that's contaminated with sneaky bastard trich that doesn't show up till fruiting and has been driving me up the walls with frustration

Any feedback would be appreciated

looks good to me, theres a few spots on there that look questionable, use only pure white mycelium for inoculating your jars or whatever you're using.

The spots you see grew from the wedge, its not mycelium branching over a contam but actually the mycelium doing it

Looks fine to me as well just wanted some other cultivators input, had some ninja trich that's so sneaky you would not believe it.

Are you sure? If they are satellite colonies and they made it into a grain jar that could be the vector for your trich. I would transfer again and try and prevent them from showing up.

Most likely the wedge touched parts of the plate as I was dropping it in, but thanks for the input

I have had that happen but its good to be sure. Maybe two are from the wedge but one is mold. I don't put anything on grain that I am not 100% on.

How do you store your plates? Are they wrapped in any way?

If not and you grab them by the top and bottom and use any pressure its possible to flex the top enough to cause a slight pressure difference and force a little air out, if air comes out air must go in and its not filtered air.

A long shot but I have seen it happen.

Hey mad, I sticky tape them and wrap them in gladwrap. When I handle them I do with utmost care. Like I said that 'satellite colonies' grew with the mycelium from the center, it wasn't like the mycelium colonized over them
