SirJaredSalty said: Hello, this is my first grow and everything has been going great so far. I am now at my second day of the terrarium and I am having trouble getting it humid. I put a heating pad underneath of it to try and speed up the evaporation of the perlite and make it more humid. That did indeed work but now I am noticing there are blobs of water at the bottom of the terrarium/perlite. I also took it off because I am concerned about over heating the cakes. What I want to know is do I need the heating pad to make the humidity work or should I just wait longer for it be humid? This is really stressing me out since from until this point everything has been so easy. Please help
You need to read a tek from this century
Build a SGFC and please watch the dates on the information you read.

I used this website http://www.mushroomvideos.com/, but I didn't drill as many holes as he did because I read on forums that drilling so many holes is bad so I just drilled maybe 20. Should I drill on every side including the botttom and drill more like he did? I'm kinda confused on the whole drilling so many holes thing.

-------------------- Alright then, picture this if you will: 10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51. Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

Your job isn't to process the information. You do what the TEK say's until you know why you are doing what the TEK says.
We are here to help, don't innovate and follow the directions in our guides to the T.

Yeah I guess I'll have to drill more holes. What should I do with the cakes while I do that?

A heat pad will lower the humidity. So if you're using one that's probably your problem.

Okay guys, so I am about to drill more holes and I can definitely tell its humid inside. But I see on the base of some of the shroom bodies that there are little white fuzz. I read online that it is caused by a lack of air exchange, is this true?

A majority of the time, yes. It can also be genetic but 95% of the time, it's because they're not getting enough oxygenated air.

Alright I have drilled my holes and will see what happens in a few days. How long should it be once I see signs of condensation and humidity? Thanks guys.
