Hey guys I want to start out with how greatful I am to the members of this site for all of your help and answers so far. Every problem I've run into there has either been an answer I could find or a person willing to help. Now for the reason for this post. In 2010 I was deployed to Afghanistan with the army. I was a combat medic so as you can imagine I ran into some pretty bad stuff. I was also 18 years old and not equipped with the emotional tools to handle and store those bad things in a healthy manor. I returned home in 2011 a different person. I was anxious and angry for lack of a better term fucked in the head. I have PTSD and it has effected every aspect of my life. For three years straight I or someone I loved died in my dreams almost every nightOn three separate accounts I have blacked out forgot where I was or who I was with and beat them badly. Once under the influence of "PTSD meds" I was on the couch holding my infant daughter when I realized I hadn't seen my then wife in a few minutes so I called to her. When there was no answer I went upstairs where I could hear crying from the bathroom. I knocked on the door which I then realized had a massive crack on it. She screamed for me to leave her alone. Long story short I had had an episode chased her up the stairs and was trying to break the door down. I stopped using the meds that same day. After the meds I tried therapy. The therapy worked wonder but it is too expensive for me to go regularly and without seeing the therapist religiously like cancer without chemo it comes right back. In my desperate attempt to find a remedy I ran across an article written by a veteran suffering from similar problems. He was treating his PTSD with mushrooms and it was working. Apparently the psilocybin breaks down the barriers holding these memory tumors in. Desperate for a cure I found the PF tek read it carefully and began my first grow. I now have somewhere around 30 mushrooms growing with about a week left. If this gets a positive response I will document my findings trip report style as a way of repaying all of the help I have gotten. Thanks again guys -DocG-

Everything kills each other on earth. Don't be ashamed of your part in it. When you can accept what you may have experienced as shit that sucks but is happening regardless of your participation or not, then you can get better. You can also take away from it that you are now aware of the state the world is in, which you may have never really known about without being truly involved.

I'd be a mess if I had to go through service as a soldier. Focus on your family. You don't want to lose them and have to think about it for the rest of your life. What you went through is in the past and you can't change that, but don't let that past change your future for the worse.

The best relief I've found so far was the book BE HERE NOW. . But like everything else the affects are temporary.

I try not to. But once I'm triggered I am no longer me I become a monster that has no thought but survival and destruction of everything threatening that. I except that I am who I am now and I will never be who I was again. I am just desperately trying break down the subconscious walls to somehow process what happened in a way that will not allow them to control me the way that they do.

There has been a lot of studies suggesting mdma could be a cure for ptsd. I'm not saying just go and take it but I think it was maps.org or something that was finding really beneficial results from administering mdma to people with it, definitely worth checking out.

I did see that. The problem is that it will show up on my companies drug tests. Psilocybin won't. I appreciate the input. I would love to try it but I can't loose my job.

Honestly, I can see mushrooms being unpredictable and could easily go either way.
If you really wanted to use specifically a psychedelic, I'd heavily recommend LSD over mushrooms.
Before a psychedelic, i'd recommend ketamine or MDMA combined with therapy.
I dunno i'm not up to date on the literature though.

Naw, I think shrooms are a good choice for this kind of thing... they are cheap and easy to produce, and they can be very healing in the right setting. I'd recommend starting off in the 2-3 grams dried territory before taking higher quantities.
LSD lasts a long time, and it's difficult to find a pure product that's not an RC if you don't know the right people. The effects could be quite unpredictable.
Another good one to try OP would be mescaline. You can order san pedro easily online and make a tea or resin. The tea tastes like ass but I've always found the cacti to be very forgiving and nurturing. Some of the effects can be similar to mdma, but more psychedelic.
When you take your shroomz, just lay back and close your eyes.. allow yourself to enter your mind and see yourself from a different perspective.
War is a terrible, terrible thing. Good luck with your journey.

I have to be careful around dicks when I eat shrooms or I start trying to suck them like nipples.

yeah i'm going to circle back and say mescaline is probably your best bet for a psychedelic. very easy to get cacti online, and much gentler than shrooms or lsd.

I totally agree. Mescaline has a very apologetic side to the trip, and not as much of a mind fuck as lsd or psilocybin. It also is the most legal of all of the psychedelics lending to less paranoia when tripping. It comes up vert slow and down very slow.
